Guest guest
Hi Everybody, Thanks for the suggestions but I`m way ahead of you! I have a deadbolt lock and I hide the keys at night but she searches for them while she`s sleepwalking! The furniture moving is more of a worry, if she drops the TV on herself I won`t be the only disabled one in the house LOL I do understand about you deciding to homeschool your son (my younger daughter has behaviour problems and is regularly at odds with her teachers) but have you thought about this option makng your son feel even more different to other kids? I expect initially he will be happy to be away from the hassle of school but in the long term will he blame his health problems for distancing him from the `normal`. One other thing I`ve been curious abou for ages is PE in US schools. I notice on this and other lists people often relate their bad memories of PE classes and wonder why they had to go through this. Is it compulsory there with no way of opting out? Over here (Ireland) PE is a compulsory subject but a note from a parent is enough to excuse a child, I myself did not do PE as a child due to a back problem. At the beginning of each year my mother sent a note saying she did not want me to be in the PE class, she usually said why but this wasn`t necessary. Does a parent in the US not have this option?
