Guest guest
An easy to use timer chip is a cd4047. A web search for 4047 will get you a data sheet that shows how to make it an oscillator that can run down to very low pulse rates and if you want an exact 50/50 duty cycle then pins 10 and 11 provide complementary outputs that are both 50 %. If you want to get REAL slow then there is another chip that can be used , I just don't remember it's number offhand but can get it if anyone is interested. I used it for my croft timer and the schematic is on the croft site. dpaul
Guest guest
Karma, I visited the site but do not understand what you use it for exactly. In what regard is it helpful? It looks interesting though. I'm wondering how I might use it to keep me focused with at home business, study time, exercise, etc. I get overwhelmed at times with, not so much the multi-tasking of daily life itself, but remembering it all. I would very much appreciate your input of how you make the timer work in your life. It looks like a nifty little gadget. Thanks. Guest guest
, I worked from home for many years and still do have a home based business that does very well for me. I have a corner in my house that is calendar central. I have four children that are at that stage where it seems they are involved in everything! They are required to keep their schedule on the calendar so I can plan my life in advance. If I'm going to be expected to pick someone up from practice or transport someone somewhere, I require advance notice. My kids are great at getting their activities on the calendar. So, every morning I check the day and what is going to be expected of me in the way of meetings, transportation of children, etc. I take a 3 x 5 card and divide it into 3 sections Call, Do, Go While I'm getting ready, I keep the card handy and when something comes to mind, I put it in the correct section of the card to keep me focused. I keep it handy on the drive to my office (20 minutes). When something comes to mind, again, on the card it goes. That allows me to stay focused and let it go from my " holding " memory. When I get to the office, I plug stuff into my day and that is when the timer comes into play. I hope that helps.
