Guest guest
Well, went to the ortho today and he did a cortizone injection. Let's hope it helps ~Sable And in the midst of all this, I was dx'd with AC joint arthritis that > I'm going to an ortho for tomorrow. > > I'm very glad to be here among folks who understand what it's like to > be in pain all the time. > > ~Sable
Guest guest
Hello Sable...fellow Spiney! Just wanted to say that I've got my fingers crossed for you that these injections work well. How many injections did you get? Is everything you have going on mostly in your neck? I'm sorry, I did read your MRI report...but my memory is bad and I forgot. I am mostly neck (4 levels) and lower back too (1 level...feels like more than that). It's a constant battle. And I for one was very surprised when all of this started with me that the neck can effect sooo many other areas of your body. I knew nothing of the spine untill I got injured...and since then it's been a slow learning process! Something to learn everyday. Yes, arthitis kind of goes hand in hand with these injuries, that's what my doc said anyway. Best wishes to you! Debbie > > Well, went to the ortho today and he did a cortizone injection. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Yes, most of my issues are in my neck. I have severe DDD/DJD C4/5, 5/6, 6/7 with stenosis and posterior osteophytes; C5/6 level 6mm cord. I, too, was pretty ignorant to spinal issues until all of this started a few years ago and this shoulder thing has only been the last month or so. It's definately a learning experience. Guest guest
-Hi Sable welcome to the group. Sorry to hear so much pain has brought you here. I hope the injections will help you some. But I would suggest you might look into finding another dr. I can't see a dr refusing to treat you for any reason as being fair. I know I have read that healing is better but still no dr has the right to refuse to treat you for any reason. I'd go check out another dr asap I am sure you will find one who will treat you better than that. Best wishes and let us know how things turn out for you. Welcome again. Guest guest
Sable, Hi, feeling okay from your shot? Forgot to mention that I had trouble from the surgery from smoking. The doc told me not to and did the surgery and stuck a patch on me afterwards (nicotine patch) I had an alergic reaction to it and took it off. When I got out and smoked it messed up my healing process and slowed it down alot, the doc asked me " well, did you quit smoking " ? I said no because now I was so bored and nothing to do. Bad idea to smoke with these surgeries, but not the end of the world for me. Gotta Go, Be well! Debbie > > > > Hi Sable, > > Sorry to hear about all of that.
