Guest guest
BlankThis may sound a little bit crazy, but does anyone besides me dread going to sleep at night? I know that may sound really odd,but I really have that problem. I guess that it may have a lot to do with the fact that I hurt so bad all the time anymore and I know that when I wake up that I`ll just be in the same shape that I`m in now [hurting like ,well you know what I mean] I`m so tired of this, but then who among us isn`t tired of the pain and all that goes with it. You would think that after all this time that I`d be used to the pain {and all that goes with it} and would be able to just get on with my life. Just like right now. It`s 5:30 a.m. and here I am still awake. I really don`t want to go to sleep, but I know that I need to,so I guess that I`ll go and try to get to bed. Maybe I`ll be able to go to sleep. Who knows maybe I`ll even feel a little better when I wake up. Well, guess that I have rambled on long enough for now. TAKE AS BEST CARE AS YOU CAN AND BE SAFE. Larry for me it comes in cycles. There are days when from the minute I wake up, all I dream of is getting back in bed. But when I dread it is when I get in cycles of insomnia. To me it maddening to lay there staring at the ceiling, tossing and turning while all others in the house are in a deep slumber. That is when my email post are in the wee hours of the morning. I also know the dread of laying there in extreme pain, ready to pull my hair out. You are not alone. Dave

Guest guest
Well, here it is 4:00 in the morning and I'm still awake, again. It looks like I opened up a lively discussion about not being able to sleep. I really didn't think that I was alone in not being able to get to sleep at night due to the pain and all that goes with it. Before I got my social security disability I can't begin to tell of all the nights that I was unable to sleep due to the pain and all the worry about not being able to pay the bills. The worry and the depression was so bad that I just about lost my mind. Now that I've had ssdi for the past year the part about the bills has been just about been resolved, but I still have a hard time getting to sleep due to the pain. It seems that the problem of my not being able to get to sleep is getting worse as time goes by. The pain,or my wandering mind is keeping me up all the time. At least once or twice a week {sometimes 3,or 4 } I'm unable to go to sleep for an extended period of time. The last time was just this past weekend. I was up for about 36 hours before I just crashed from the exhaustion. When I finally did go to sleep I was able to sleep with out much of an interruption before I woke up. Most of the time I wake up just about every hour on the hour. Sometimes I wake up several times an hour for what seems like forever. So I'm really not able to rest much when I do get to sleep. I know that I'm not alone in this mess. I know that many of you experience the same kind of days and nights that I do. You men can't work and you have to stay at home while your wife goes off to work, etc, etc. I haven't been posting much the past year or so. I've felt like I've not had much to contribute to the group since I've not had any surgeries, resigned from being a moderator etc, etc. Well hopefully that has come to a halt,if you know what I mean. This group is a very important part of my life. There have been many times that members of this group have been there for me and have helped me get through some very difficult times. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO ME AND HAVE BEEN THERE WHEN I NEEDED YOU THE MOST. MAY YOU ALL HAVE A BETTER DAY TODAY THAN YESTERDAY AND NOT AS GOOD A DAY AS TOMORROW. TAKE AS BEST CARE AS YOU CAN AND BE SAFE. LARRY
Guest guest
Larry, have you tried taking sleep meds? I take 150mg of Trazodone a half hour before going to bed, and it helps me a lot. There are still nights when I toss and turn and finally get up and put on the coffee, but for the most part, I am able to sleep fairly well. Talk to your doctor about it. Both of my Doctors say that the combo of meds I take at bedtime should knock out a horse, but here it is 3:35 am and I quite awake. I did sleep for about 2 1/2 hours. I figured I 'd catch up on my e-mail and try sleep again. Save
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, sorry that I haven't gotten back to you before now. I haven't been on line in a couple of days. As for taking sleep meds, I do take some sleep meds ,at least meds that my insurance will pay for.{ and that I can afford to get} I take the generic temazepam,30mg. Sometimes they work, most times the don't.It is just a hit and miss type of deal for me. Well,I go to go and try to get to sleep. May you all have a better day today than yesterday and not as good a day as tomorrow. Take as best care as you can and be safe. Hi, Larry. I take a cocktail, via Doctors orders that should knock out a horse. But I've been on most for 4 years so my body is pretty immune to them. I take Temazepam, Imiprimine, Baclofen, Oxycoton, and a Vicoden all at bedtime. For ME, the one that seems to have the most effect is the imiprimine. I get a kick out of the TV commercials for the sleeping pill with Abe Lincoln and the Groundhog. I have them on my Fridge. I feel like were kindred spirits. Well tonight I did pretty good. Slept from about 2:30am until 4:30. I'm going back soon for round two. Blessings to all that this NorEaster doesn't bring too many cold damp pains with it.
