Just wanted to also add that heart problems can develop at later dates as well

even if not present at birth

neck

I just read your message about Danny having the Atlanto Axial Instability. We

had checked when he was two and was fine. I gater reading your message you

thought he was ok also. How did you find out about the problem? Did he have any

symptoms or did a doctor find it? I am wondering because i thought you either

had it or didn't I didn't know it could show up later. Hope everything will be

ok. Thanks, Margaret

Greyson and - 3 and Annice 18mos.

Consider yourself lucky Llinda, an MRi's easy, all you do is lie there while the machine does all the work. My doc wants to set up one of those things - the name of the test escapes me right now - where they put a tube down your throat & take pictures of your insides. He wants to see if I have any varices - I don't care, I'm so NOT going to swallow a tube, should've done it when I was unconscious.

FW: neck

Hello

peoples... good news on the neck! I am scheduled at the hospital for

Wednesday the 31st for surgery on my cervical discs. I am waiting now on a

phone call from the docs office to let me know the details. It is scheduled as

an out-patient procedure so I should be home Wednesday night. I won't be able

to do much for probably a couple of weeks, yea... I get out of the last 5 days

of school!!! (the little people are getting quite

restless) Hubby should be back from vacation that day so

can help tend to the critters. I am sure I will be able to drive home

myself. Really don't want to tie up a friend for an all day ordeal.

The

procedure is called Disc Nucleoplasty, more info here: http://www.nucleoplasty.com/dpat/dpat.aspx if

you are interested . It is a fairly new treatment, the FDA approved it in

2004. It is more commonly used on the lower back, but my doc feels I

am the perfect cervical candidate as no other treatment options are open to me,

other than heavy drugs.

Lots

to do so had best get going. Wish me luck! In my mind I am dancing and

doing cartwheels.

i have not gotten a chance to read everyones replies about the neck

pains/surgeries. i had to reschudule my appt. my wife just had a

miscarriage. neither of us are healthy nutritionally, and are under our

weight limit according to height; we feed our children first. (shrug) it

is just another slap in the face as we wait for some miracle to help us, as

doctors and the disability people are content to sit back and worry about

their medical licenses (as they are state docs) instead of worrying about

their pateints like the doctors we had when i held a job. but thank you for

the replies, and i will get a chance to read them now before actually seeing

the doctor again. to answer some questions i saw. there are some mornings

when i cannot turn my head to the right; literally. there are times when i

get this shooting sensation that goes up my neck into my head and it feels

like fire. it is becoming increasingly a problem for me. and because i

know that back problems sometimes lead to neck problems, i want to head this

off before surgery is required, as it hasnt been much help in the past. i

have a severe bulge in my neck; it almost makes me look like im seriously

old and about to grow a hump or something. whatever..... that is what the

docs are for. but thank you; though i have not read all the replies yet.

sorry to hear about the miscarriage. don't your state have food stamps

and organzations that help with food. I know here we have alot of different ones

that help people that are in your position. Even some of our churches help. We

also have low income state health and mental clinics that are based on our

income. I had to use them while waiting for my SSDI and medicare to get

approved. Your local DHR should also be able to help you find these places that

is how I found them. I just walked in and told them of my situtation and they

pointed me in the right direction. It was a hard step to make it. But it had to

be done.
