I went in for surgery Friday the 26th. Everything looked fine. Mydisc placement is still very good. My nerves are not compressed. They gave me a couple different injections during the surgery. I had relief from my leg and foot pain for a day. The next morningthe pain had returned. My NS talked with a PM Doc. He thought that it sounded like A-typical RSD. My NS has not had many cases of RSD. And my symptoms differ from the normI saw the PM Doc yesterday. He has sceduled me for an injection this Tuesday. He called it Midacain(sp). The PT will come in and work with my foot after the injection. They will keep me overnight, but it will still be outpatient because they will send my home after 23 hours. When they catch RSD early it is reversible. If not it can cause permanent damage. From what I understood. He also put

me back on Neurontin and one I haven't had before called Elavil. All these docs are saying that my other problem(clumping of nerves) looks like Arachnoiditis. But they are not as concerned with that as they are with the RSD. I don't know too much about either. I little more about Arach. But I thought Arach was pretty serious. Does that mean RSD is pretty serious? I am starting to dive in and learn more about each. My Right foot looks dead. I have discoloration off and on and theskin is dry and flaking. I have terrible pain. Mostly in my foot. It burns and often times I get what feels like electrical jolts in my foot.My calf and hip are painful too but not as much as my foot. It hurts to walk, but at the same time I get small relief after walking around awhile. There is a possibility the foot drop is connected. And so when theRSD gets better my foot drop may also.I hope no one else is having similar

experiences because this is horrible. What I wouldn't give for a good night sleep. Is anyone out there familiar with RSD or Arachnoiditis?I must say that I am very grateful for my new disc. It is so pleasant to have that terrible pressure relieved. I am still having pain there but nothing compared to what it was. Sorry to go on rambling so long. If I have missed responding toemails that I needed to, I will try to get to them soon.Take care everyone. I hope you are all having low pain days. You are all in my prayers. Hi Katrina sorry to hear you are going back but maybe they can

figure out what is going on. I have some info on RSD and ARAC I will

send you later and post in the links. I do know someone who had a

friend with RSD will try and see if I can get more info from them

for you. What you have sounds someone similar to my pain in my foot

not totally but I know most of mine is from my sciatic nerve.

Although I still think something else is going on there too. I take

the highest dose of Nuerotin you can take and that has helped me

alot. I can always tell when its wearing off. But I did have to go

up on it gradually to not get all the side affects some people have.

Let us know how things go I hope the injection helps you some. Sad

to say its trial and errror over and over till they finally figure

out what is wrong but thats how dr's always do it. best wishes will

keep you in my prayers. Sharon Group Owner
