I was wondering what other people who took this thought about how long it took to work for them, if it really took 3 weeks to work for you?? thanks for any help from anyone with this, I am almost afraid to switch meds now. I have read online that they block nerves for people who had/have shingles or diabetes related... Guest guest
-HI Shirley maybe your dose is too high and you need a lower one. what kind of dose are you on?? And what where you on before?? I know my PM dr told me it was stronger than Neurotin so I had to go on a lower dose of lyrica. But I stil would like to know from someone else who has taken it awhile. I think Katrina was on it, so maybe we will hear from her soon. take care and if it continues to bother you be sure and call your dr and check with them. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Sorry to be so scarce. I hope all is well with you. I do take this medication still. The Doc switched me from Neurontin to Lyrica several months ago.It took some time to adjust. The big side affect for me was the sleepiness. They started out small with me and have gone up recently(300 mg. a day) and I can still have some sleepiness after this much time has gone by. Some of that could have to do one of the other meds I take too though. Even with the additional sleepiness it has been worth it to have a decrease in that horrible leg pain and burning I had before. It is so true that what is good for one won't neccessarily be good for another, but I have been very impressed with this medication even with the additional drowsiness. I HTH. Hope you are still recovering well from your surgery. Take care. Hugs, Katrina :-) > > Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone takes this nerve pill ?? Guest guest
Hi Shirley good luck on your surgery Mon I will keep you in my prayers. Hopefully you won't be in the hospital long just a few days and then back home to rest. And in a few weeks you should be feeling alot better. As for a trip your dr will probably tell you several weeks to months before you should do that. But ask him on your after surgery checkup he should be able to tell you then. Also I think most pain drugs constipate people some dr's suggest a stimulant but I'd rather take something like extra fiber ( the new kind you can stir into anything cause its invisible) or raisins or anything that will help you. Everyone is different so if you know what kind of foods help you just make sure and eat those as much as possible. Good luck again I will pray you feel alot better after your surgery on Mon. Drop us a note when you feel up to posting again. Best wishes Sharon Group Owner > > Hi Sharon > sorry it's been a while but I take 75mg of Lyrica and now that > I've been taking it I have noticed that my head feels heavy or something the next day and I seem to stay groggy for about > 5 hours but it helps some so I will continue taking it.Oh I guess > everyone knows its a seizure drug that is being used for other > conditions.OH YES I'm finally going for cervical surgery this coming Monday Morning so say a little prayer for me please and the group too!!
