Guest guest
Gretchen; I did't make it clear I had ncv and emg done at same time, ncv was near normal, emg normal, was told I did not have cmt. No explanation why my toes don't work on right foot, except that maybe my shoes were too tight, or why I stagger, ncv done by tech. emg by medic. Said I had slight Ulnar entrapment explaning my hands. Jim Nash
Guest guest
Oh Jim Sometimes it seems that no matter how we work - these damn doctors just remain in the dark ages and don't accept the different types of CMT. 53 last time we counted. My guess (and please forgive me for saying this) is that you have some form of CMT2 the axonal type where NCV's and EMG's come back as normal or near normal but you appear to be up against the same quacks I am. They're the doctors and they know what they're talking about - rubbish - they haven't a clue. Look on website, talk to Gretchen and Becky and get as much info as you can on CMT2 and then wave it under their noses. If they insist on saying you don't have demand an explanation as to what you do have - bet you anything they can't come up with anything that makes sense. The neuro guy I was seeing for over two years insisted I didn't have CMT, finally I took my baby piccies in which shows evidence of deformed feet and wasted muscles and after over two years of examinations and tests he said he didn't think I had CMT because he'd never seen it in children so young. But after all his tests and theories - that was the first time he seen my piccies. He was so pathetic - I couldn't believe it. Keep fighting my friend we're all behind you. Love and hugs Sue The important thing is never to stop questioning. Website www.horder-mason.freeserve.co.uk Freelance Writer and CMTer ----- Original Message ----- From: jimnas2000@...
