How odd, I always post info I find regarding others posts, if I feel its in error or harmful I post about it. Your post said " Elavil works on serotonin in the brain as a reuptake inhibitor. " It is not in that class of drugs and can cause serious problems if taken with one of the SSRI's. So I wanted that known in order to save others from a possbile over dose effect or serious side effect. Why would I want to argue with you? 4 years ago I took amitriptyline (Elavil), so that's my experience with it. For me it did not help. But I did not post that. Only the warnings of taking it with a SSRI. So wheres the arguement? ~>Becky Ecuse me Becky, I should have qualified my experience with Elavil more. Becaue medications work on us do differently, as does Elavil for me, it DOES work on my serotonin levels and their reuptake. I have had extremely good results with this medication since 1987. May I remind you and the group Elavil helps me with balance, tremors, sleep, nerve pain and mood. Quite a good medication for me if it helps in 5 ways. I agree that Elavil is NOT an SSRI; the newer class of anti-depressants, but a tri-cyclic. I will also say I tried a variety of SSRI's too, from Prozac to Paxil to Zoloft, al; had very negative effects on my CMT, mostly causing extreme agitation and a surgee in tremors.. May I inquire what your experience is with Elavil? Did you take it? How did it work for you? Please, if you want to argue with me, lets do it offlist. ~G
Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have only been a member of this group for 2 weeks now. I choose though to leave simply cause this list is ridiculous! After reading numerous post, I have come to a conclusion.....Let me explain. After reading what Gretchen posted, then Becky, I didn't think much of it, HOWEVER, when Gretchen replied, I was floored. You are the owner/moderator, which I respect. You could have emailed Becky privately, but chose to post to the list. I do not see that Becky was arguing with you or trying to make you look stupid. It just shows your level of immauturity. You need to have an open mind and not jump when someone say something. I do not know you or Becky, so therefore, I apologize if I am hurting your feelings. I thought this list were for people to post how they feel and share their experiences..I guess I was WRONG..... I know I will be banned for saying how I feel, so let me say to every CMTer out there, that I wish all of you love and peace...
