I think it's a wonderful idea, I've tried this in other groups though and

honestly it didn't work well. But if you decide to try it here, count me in to

help as needed.

I believe if I had been able to find other people that had gone through the

same things in the beginning, and perhaps had found some answer, my journey may

have been easier; at least a lot less lonely and frightening.

Sharon, In one group we put a database each person. you can put several fields

up for example: first field would have name then second add the list of your

health issues. then people can refer back to the data base to re fresh their

minds. may have to use two fields for health issues.

Hugs and Prayers, Babs

Chronic illness Chronic Pain You are not alone

I think it's a great idea. I love to help and participate, but some days I

just don't have it in me to type my health history again. So a Files or

FAQ question would be great. If we do it by members, if I can scan my

MRI's and X-rays, I'd be willing to post it also. I have my old Pedical

Screw Hardware, when I show it to people they get an Idea of the level of

Trauma my spine has seen. Dave

Hi

I'd participate in whatever is set up, I have so much free time at nite, it

would help fill up the time till my body decides it will fall asleep without the

aid of pills!

This is a great idea! So many times, we don't know what to do or what

type of doctor to go to for help. Experience is a valuable teacher.

Personally, I think a folder here on the site would be better for new

members. Easier to access.

Hi everyone I think I figured out a way to do this in the group. So if

anyone wants to write a story about their pain and the dr's they have

seen, which ones helped, which didn't. What kind of treatments they

have been thru, what helped, what was worthless. And how it has

affected their lives and those around them. And I am sure there are

other things you could write about your journey with pain in your

life.If you write your story all or part of it and email it to me I

can post it into a folder where anyone who wants too can read it. Just

please remember be careful writing your story remember anyone in the

group can read it so keep this in mind when you write it. If I think

there are any problems with it I will email you before I post it. Be

sure and label it " My story " or something like that so I will know

what it is in my email acct. SO for those of you who thought it was a

good idea start writing :) I hope others especially new members can

benefit from reading these stories and get ideas that may help them

find relief from their pain. Sharon Group Owner

maybe somehow set up different categories; back pain, neck pain, fusions

etc. and people could be listed under the different categories for things

that they have had done or tried? i think your idea is a good one, but

would try and keep it to the same site somehow if possible.

i also think adding personal info (not too personal) but stuff like how

people treat you or how supportive your spouse or partner is/isnt things

like that because everyone knows about the pain but the " background " stuff

that goes on kids etc... also i think will help people identify with what

might be going on in THEIR lives and maybe help in some way. does that make

sense?

-HI Rob yes that makes sense. Living with chronic pain not only

changes your life but the lives of those around you. And how you are

treated by others is a big part of living with it too. You loose

friends because you can no longer do the fun things you used too

with them. The support or not of your family and those around you is

a big thing that willl affect your life with pain.Your whole life

changes and that is something a person

new to chronic pain will have to deal with so it makes sense to

educate them as to what the will see happen to them because. Its not

an easy thing to deal with for any of us. Sharon Group Owner'
