Sharon, It's good news to hear about your surgery date-my thoughts and prayers will be with you that all will go well, and you'll be in less pain. It sounds like a rough surgery, I only had an A/P lumbar fusion with some complications, but it all came out ok in the long run, with some residual pain. You're brave to go through with more than one back surgery, but hopefully this is the one that will cure you of your painSincerely JeannieJeannie

Hello Sharon,I hope that this will be the last time that you will have to have surgery. I sincerely hope that this time you will get the much needed pain relief that you deserve to have.

MAY YOU HAVE A BETTER DAY TODAY THAN YOU HAD YESTERDAY AND NOT AS GOOD A DAY AS TOMORROW.

TAKE AS BEST CARE AS YOU CAN AND BE SAFE.

Hi Jeannie thanks :) I will admit is a very scary thought to go thru

this again. Three surgeries already and I know this one is a big

gamble. My surgeon though did do my neck fusion and I had spinal

stenosis there too and he fixed it all up pretty well. SO I am

pretty confident if it will work he can do it. Still there will be

that edge of doubt too, I have to hope for the best yet I know too

well what can go wrong. Hoping I will be lucky this time and not end

up worse than I already am.But no matter what I have already decided

this is it, whatever happens I will live with. No more surgeries for

me. I know several people who have had successful back fusions but

then I know many who did not. The first surgery I had I hoped for

relief and got if for a very short time, then the pain came back

tenfold. So its hard to be totally confident knowing all the things

I do now. I was alot more uneducated in the world of back problems

and surgeries then I am now. So I'll just have to pray it works and

I get my life back again. Six years seems like forever to fight this

pain. And although I have been in worse pain than I am now, I know

any day it can go way up and stay there for weeks on end. And with

my neck it was so horrible I NEVER want to feel like that again.

That is why I am taking the gamble now. Just praying my dr can do

some magic with my back and fix it finally. Thanks again for your

good wishes. Sharon Group Owner

Sharon,

I will keep you in my prayers, that this will be your answer. I know it must be very hard to make the decision to go under the knife but I'm sure this is the very best one you could make. We'll all be rooting for you!

Hi Leena, thanks for the support. It will be a long haul to recover

I am sure. Just praying it will work and my whole summer won't be

spent inside UCK!!!!!! It would drive me crazy not being able to be

around my horses. Although I know it will be weeks before I will be

able to get near them after the surgery. No summer work for me this

year at all, doing hay, mowing or anything :( probably not even

brushing them much. That I LOVE doing. They are so sweet though,

they all seem to sense when my pain is worse and are always so

careful around me, except for one younger one. Hopefully I have him

sold soon, praying they will buy him and take him before my surgery.

That will cut my herd down to 6, 3 that I raised from babies and two

older mares and one younger mare I am still trying to decide what to

do with. Hard to believe 7 yrs or so ago I had a herd of 13 horses.

Had to really cute back when my back and neck got bad :( was a tough

decision but for the best I couldn't take care of them all :( Anyway

thanks and I will be sure and let everyone know how it goes as soon

as I can get online when I get home from the hospital if not sooner.

Best wishes for as painfree day as possible. Sharon Group Owner

hi sharon,

i hope everything goes well for you. i always looked forward to the painful

shots and the surgeries, because they represent hope of a better, more

productive life. you will be in our prayers. and i hope they treat you

right after the surgery. that was where i alwasys had problems. nurses

playing doctor and deciding whether or not i got my medicine and when. i

hate that; when they don't follow the doctors orders, and instead of

piggybacking the meds one after the other so that they will actually help,

they ugh... just makes me angry thinking about it. im sure all will go

well. it would be nice to get a picture of you back on your horses!

take care

Hi Rob thamks for the good wishes. I will admit I am getting scared

as it gets closer. I am not at all anxious to go thru this again.

Just the thought of no more back or horrible leg pain(the numbness,

burning needles and severe pain NOTHING will stop) is keeping me

going forwards with this. I found out today the floor I will be on

has private rooms now, so maybe I will actually be able to sleep

there this time. I know it will be a long recovery after a 6+ hr

surgery. I hope I will be home by Sat. and I will let you all know

asap how it went. I pray they figure out what is happening with your

poor wife soon. I hate to think of her suffering so much and no one

really helping her. Its just so WRONG for dr's to let someone suffer

like that there HAS to BE a reason for it all. I will keep your

family in my prayers. Best wishes for all of you. Sharon Group

p.s. It will be a LONG time before I tackle getting on a horse I am

afraid :( I am going to be extra careful to recover fully and give

this the best shot I can for it to work. But maybe one day again, I

hope so :)
