Guest guest
That sounds just great Marie!! Remember that the Rebetrol will have some sides of it's own too. So far so good! Keep up the good work. I never had the nerve to shot into my stomach but I have heard that it is much easier to do it there. Guest guest
, I'm hoping that my sides will be light, but I'm ready if they aren't. Hopefully using the 29 gauge needle and using different sits will help. If not, I've got some good tips from everyone. I'm just enjoying the present reprieve. Guest guest
It's a lot easier for me to so the shot in my abdomen. I was told there are less nerve endings there. Using a 29 gauge needle helps, too. I didn't even feel it. Marie At 03:30 PM 01/22/2003 -0000, you wrote: ><html><body> > > ><tt> >That sounds just great Marie!! Guest guest
> > No use crying over spilt eggnog! > Gee, I was too tired last night (and to full, late dinner) to even think about having any.. besides I looked at the number of calories in that stuff and don't think I'll be having more then a small (one serving size) glass of it. I've never been one to waste my calories on drinks. > While the kids are busy playing with their new toys, The kids? Heck I've been playing with them too They got a dance maker/dance machine that they are slowly figuring out, but I've showed them several times (on beginner level) how it works. They have fun with it, but are always at least one if not 2 or 3 steps behind. >and after the house is picked up enough that you can find a chair to >sit in, grab your pencils and paper and start making a rough food >plan for next week. Ahhh yes, I have to do this anyways because we way overspent the last 2 months and need to cut back in Janurary in order to get by soooo I will be starting to empty those full cupboards and the freezer a bit too. If I have a plan of attack I can get in healthier meals and still not have to buy too much food. Otherwise it is too simple to slip right back into bad eating habbits, and blame it on not having the correct food in the house. >Then look around and find where you last laid your food journal and >start writing in it again, starting with your goals for the next >week. I've never kept one of these, partly because any paper laying around the house (no matter what it is in) seems to be fair game for Miranda. She will take almost anything to color and draw in. As long as it isn't a proper book then she thinks it's ok. *sigh* Anhow.... I could always do one on the computer, but I just don't have the motivation for doing one right now. Baby steps right? Just getting back on track for now is what I need. Sooo back to posting my M & M's the first of the year! (best homer voice: MMMMmmmmmmmmmm M & M's....) LOL > Drink plenty of water today. Mine broke a few months ago (I used it a bit even though I didn't completely trust it ya know cheap $2 spring loaded one). I bought it as a christmas gift to myself, so I have that sitting in the kitchen waiting I also picked up some PJ's that I thought *might* fit me and are a bit too tight (ok a lot too tight). I thought about taking them back then thought I could use them to help me see weight loss ya know try them every 20lbs lost and see how they fit. Hopefully it will help. They are a cute little 3pc satin type set from Wal-Mart with pant bottoms, spaghitti strap top an a long sleeved print sheer that goes over it. Soooo I think I will keep it and use it an aide and goal. > And also remember, there's still one more holiday to hurdle before >the end of the year! Plan now for a sane New Year's Eve celebration. I'm not sure if we will be doing anything that night or not. My family normally plans something, but I haven't heard a word from my siblings about it. My husband hates going so if nothing is planned that will be just fine with him. Last year we missed out because Meredith had gotten her fist cast that day. She broke it on the 28th, but needed the splint for a few days before the cast and she was just whipped. a who is hoping for fewer broken bones and illnesses in 2004
Guest guest
>They got a dance > maker/dance machine that they are slowly figuring out Like that Dance, Dance, Revolution pad for the Playstation games? > Ahhh yes, I have to do this anyways because we way overspent the last > 2 months If we didn't have any illnesses, we would have stuck to our food budget beautifully this month, but we've been spending as much in the drug store as grocery store the past few weeks, so we're broke! At least we now have enough store brand Robitussin DM to last another year, as well as generic Tylenol, and Puffs Plus tissues (on sale and double coupons). >and need to cut back in Janurary in order to get by soooo I > will be starting to empty those full cupboards and the freezer a bit Food is one thing I *do* have enough of now, which is good, because we only had to grab a few little things last week and for next week, like bread. Because I planned all those meals through the end of the month in advance, thankfully I had very little food shopping to do while sick. > >Otherwise it is too simple to > slip right back into bad eating habbits, This happened to me when sick. Instead of making some veggies, I wanted something with *taste*, so would toss on a box of cheapo mac & cheese, or make a grilled cheese sandwich and a can of chicken noodle soup. My poor blood pressure has been going steadily up this week, between the constant cough and all those salty foods. At least today I've already had over a gallon of water, my old-faithful oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, but some leftover mac & cheese for lunch. At least I *didn't* touch the ham - Ed promises he'll have that polished off by the time he goes back to work on Monday. Dinner today is our usual Friday whole wheat pizza. I've got some nice vegetarian pepperoni for it in the freezer, as well as some freshly sliced onions, mushrooms & peppers. Yum! and blame it on not having > the correct food in the house. For a holiday, we have amazingly few goodies around here. The boys have their favorite chips, Henry has a half bag of Hershey Kisses in his room, and I have some flavored rice cakes. We had no cake, the cookies are gone, and we never bother with any other candy, either. Now the *cheese* is still in the refrigerator, packets of it bought when on sale, and the full fat kind, too. That's slowly going to be replaced with the vegetarian soy cheeses again, and used only on pizza. I got into the habit again of tossing handsful of cheese on top of every dish I was making, almost doubling the calorie and fat content of every meal. That's got to stop! > I've never kept one of these, partly because any paper laying around > the house (no matter what it is in) seems to be fair game for > Miranda. I use those tiny memo pads, the kind kids write their homework assignments in, and leave it in my purse where nobody else can "accidrntally" tumble over it. When I use one up, it goes into a box in my closet for future reference. > I could always do one on the computer, but I just don't have the > motivation for doing one right now. Baby steps right? You have a FoodMover, right? That's good enough for keeping track of your foods for now. >>(best homer voice: MMMMmmmmmmmmmm M & M's....) Hey! That's *my* line! LOL > Been doing this, had to get up 3 times last night to use the toilet. > I think I need to spread it out thru the day better though. I had to take a quick ride out to Staples early today to get some blank cd-r's for Henry, but since then I've been doing a *lot* of drinking. This flu has been nurder on my teeth - I have the gums of 3 upper left teeth acting up and one lower right tooth's gum is inflamed, all from the sinus infection drainage and really bad teeth grinding in my sleep. Hopefully all this water will help bring things back to normal until my cough is gone enough so I *can* go to the dentist. >I bought it > as a christmas gift to myself, so I have that sitting in the kitchen > waiting Now to panic when you see how little those 4 ounces of cooked chicken really is. LOL > I also picked up some PJ's that I thought *might* fit me and are a > bit too tight (ok a lot too tight). I can never find any to fit me. If the pants fit, the top is too big. If the top fits, my fat fanny doesn't fit. If top and bottoms both fit width-wise, the crotch is below my knees. I wear bottoms that I made from $1/yd cotton knit and old worn out t-shirts as tops. I've been sweating through my tops twice a night the past week, so almost every t-shirt I own has gotten a wearing lately, even the too snug ones. > I'm not sure if we will be doing anything that night or not. Guest guest
how bad am I - no remorse. I did better than at Thanksgiving lol. I haven't planned in months - need to shop. need to schedule. need to get my water in. I'm at 267 - 265 will be the 15 challenge though I had upped my to 20 since I was doing so well in November, now I'll just be happy to back to 265 by years end. Jesus is the reason for the Season The Morning After Yes, here it is, December 26th. Many of us are holding our heads, not only because of the spirits we imbibed yesterday while celebrating, but out of remorse because of all the foods we ate. We feel guilty because we "blew it" and set our weight loss plans back by anywhere from a few days to a few months. No use crying over spilt eggnog! While the kids are busy playing with their new toys, and after the house is picked up enough that you can find a chair to sit in, grab your pencils and paper and start making a rough food plan for next week. Then look around and find where you last laid your food journal and start writing in it again, starting with your goals for the next week. Write about yesterday - about the goodies you ate, about how happy you felt celebrating with your family; then write about how awful you feel today. It'll help you in the future. Drink plenty of water today. After yesterday's excitement you're probably a bit dehydrated. Even if you're not, water is good for you. Make plans to get rid of the leftovers of holiday feast foods. If they're going to become part of your family meals the next few days, fine, just don't over-indulge like you may have yesterday. It's back to weighing and measuring and sane eating habits today. And enjoy the rest of the weekend. Christmas comes but once a year, but we can keep the feeling alive for quite a while afterwards. And also remember, there's still one more holiday to hurdle before the end of the year! Plan now for a sane New Year's Eve celebration. Then at the top of the pad is attached a plastic that sits up on and had on off switch for the game and the sound, then they can choose a level and song (if wanted) then there is a box that matches the pad with the different stars having a red light in them. At the end of the game it will light up to tell you, keep trying, good job, or expert! They do like it, but are still a bit behind with the steps, by the time they see it and figure out where to step they are behind. > If we didn't have any illnesses, we would have stuck to our food budget beautifully this month, but we've been spending as much in the drug store as grocery store the past few weeks, so we're broke! Guest guest
you know that feeling you get after a morning of way crazy partying? i know it's been awhile for some, been about 6-7 yrs for me but anyway... that's how i felt this morning when i got up. what did i do? what did i say? sorry, i just lost all brain function last night with that post; i get all emotional every now and then. i'm cool, everything is cool, i will just have to fix this like i fix everything else. along time ago someone mentioned trying to find a local group of people with back problems to meet and get together, i think i found a site that might help. www.meetup.com that should work, i have one with all of those back slashes and crap but i hate those. anyway, you can start groups and what not. it's pretty cool. i joined a group of " hippies " before i knew what was going on. (found the site by accident) hope everyone is doing good, and i have to say it was helpful to get that off my chest yesterday-i try and be all strong at home for the family, so it was nice to let go. I am still a little embarassed which is probably why i keep babbeling about it umm so i'll stop i was thinking about finding a franchise or something to invest in, i have a pretty nice 401k, and i'm not about to let my family move in with some one's parents or into an apartment, not after all i've been thru to get here-and i don't care if " here " isn't too far up the mountain. point- if anyone has any ideas, knows a man who knows a man etc.. i truly believe it's who you know in life as to where you go or how you get there. so just drop me a line robgehle@... if anyone has any ideas or something. heck with all of our knowledge we could make a website or something. any way im off to research and hopefully sleep soon. good night and pleasant dreams all. rob No greater burden can be borne by an individual than to know no one cares or understands. _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search.
