Guest guest
Marti, I wear Keds with my AFOs. I need flat shoes, no heels. Keds were the only ones available for several years when the styles were chunky high heels. Cheaper tennis shoes often don’t come in anything but medium width. My braces were molded with me standing with my feet flat on the floor so I don’t have any options as far as heel height. I get the wide width and ½ size larger than my regular shoe. I do not need to alter the shoes in any way. (I do not have high arches.) I did see some in a catalog that had removable arch supports. The Champion style has a more rounded toe than some. I tried the leather ones but they are narrower than the canvas ones so would need to be extra wide. The only other flat shoes I have found are Italian driving shoes and if my feet are the least bit swollen they pinch my toes. I don’t know if they are available in wide width.
