Guest guest
Hi LeeAnne, I had a nerve and muscle biopsy, when I was about 1 or 15 I think, so this was back in the 1960's - things might have changed. Hospitalized 1 night in the neuro ward at UCLA. Next am got a mild sedative. In the OR, leg was numbed major. But not me. Mirror above so I watched it all. Interesting but the sound of my skin being cut still rings in my ears. But felt no pain. Leg was wrapped, and off I went back to my room. It was pretty easy. Hard to walk a bit first week since big cut made, in two places, with stitches, lower left leg and lower left thigg. Kind of wierd since my right side is the problem side. I had to change dressings and have moderate activity - had to take it easy with the boy chasing for 6 weeks, but then all was well, the biopsy showed nothing abnormal and that was it. I think that a host of other neuro diseases were also ruled out at that time too with those results. ~ Gretchen
