Guest guest
Lucy seems to be in the midst of a big flare. She can't eat her Easter candy this morning because it hurts her jaw too much. Yesterday she was lying on the floor crying about how much her jaw and wrists and back hurt. She is also having vision problems. She told me about two weeks ago that she can only see gray out of the corners of her eyes. It comes and goes. I took her to an optometrist and he said that it was probably just floating spots in her eyes. But Friday she told me that she has a gray triangle in the corners of her eyes. I asked her more and she had basically lost her peripheral vision. I called the pediatric opthamologist (who is 50 miles away) and they said that they didn't think it was an emergency since it was coming and going. So we are to go in this week. Lucy's little body is so different from my other kids. She seems to have so many problems that they don't. The jra, occasional blod in her urine, dry eyes, and now the vision loss. I told my husband that sometimes I feel like a hypochondriac mom running to the doctor so much. Especially when they, like the rheumy, tell me nothing is wrong. It is so frustrating!
