Weaning from MTX...scared but happy!

We saw the rheumy today and since DS has shown no signs of active disease since

November 2009...the rheumy asked if we wanted to start trying to wean DS from

the MTX. He is only on .3ml and showed no improvement when on it alone...we are

going to give it a try. For the next three months we are dropping him down to

..2ml. (injectible) and if that works, we will reduce it further...rheumy said 6

to 9 months to completely wean.

He is also on Enbrel...it's been a year and since basically his first

shot...he's felt great. I know mtx and Enbrel often work best together...but as

the doctor mentioned there's only one way to know if that's the case with him.

Has anyone done this with success? Or without success for that matter? It's

scary...but we feel worth a try.
