He does have an inhaler that he uses, the name of it isn't coming to mind, though. We have an air filter that is supposed to help. We also use a humidifier and sleep with the windows open as often as possible. Any suggestions would be great. When there is something chronic like this there is no other way. It is complicated. Guest guest
Hi Jo, I have asthma. It is a deep, chronic condition. It needs a qualified person to deal with it. My little one and I are seeing a homeopath in February, one Sheri recommends and (thankfully) is in my hometown here in the UK (Wales to be exact). Will let everyone know what happens of course....! I really wouldn't attempt to try and sort the asthma out yourself. Suzanne dd Ruby 2.7yrs South Wales
Guest guest
Another thing to consider as an adjunct to homeopathy are naets (www.naet.com) or other energetic medicine techniques (of which I know little, but am told there are even better ones than naet - e.g., Ellen Cutler). Homeopathy can take awhile, so if you are having acute attacks, you might want to consider trying to identify what's triggering them, do naets to cure you of your allergic response, and use homeopathy to address the underlying weakness in your vital force which has led your body to react inappropriately in the first place. Guest guest
Thank you everyone, for your responses. Sherri...is the list of homeopaths you recommend on one of your websites? I'd like to find one near where we are moving to (we are hoping the move, change of climate, etc will help). Guest guest
Hi Jo, If you don't mind my asking, where in VA are you going to be living? (If you do mind my asking, just tell me to mind my business . I'm in Northern Virginia (the Washington, DC area) and have just found a classical homeopath here that is very highly regarded (though not on the list - Sheri, I'd like to pass on his information to you if you'd like). We saw him this past Tuesday and he seemed quite competent... time will tell, of course Anyway, he may be an option for you if you're going to be in this area. There are also two more in this area, though I am not sure that they are classical homeopaths. Let me know if I can be of any help to you... Take care, Amber Re: OT: Asthma Thank you everyone, for your responses. Sherri...is the list of homeopaths you recommend on one of your websites? Guest guest
Hi Amber, I'm in andria and would be most interested in knowing who this homeopath is. I've seen one here. Can't remember his name. He did a good job with my job, but in retrospect I'm not sure about other issues, such as his position on vaxes, etc. And btw, you said yours is very highly regarded, I was wondering by whom? Thanks for any info. in NoVa > From: " Bluephish " <bluephish16@...> > Reply-Vaccinations > Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2002 18:49:58 -0500 > <Vaccinations > > Subject: Re: Re: OT: Asthma > > Hi Jo, > > If you don't mind my asking, where in VA are you going to be living? My article gives you an idea how a homeopath works http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/homeo.htm And to find a quality classical homeopath near you, here is a list I maintain http://www.nccn.net/~wwithin/STEVELIST.htm Many people take a few workshops and think they do homeopathy - or read a few books - or study for a year. It take a long indepth study . Here are some questions to help determine quality You ask them: 1. Where did you study homeopathy? (should be a specific program) 2. How long did you study? (should be a number of years) 3. Who did you mentor with? 4. Do you mix homeopathy with herbs, drugs, other things??? Or do you ONLY use homeopathic remedies. (answer should be ONLY homeopathic remedies) 5. Do you use just one remedy at a time (should use 1 remedy and watch and wait - (should wait longer periods for chronic things, shorter periods for acute things) Should not have you taking more than one remedy or taking them on a routine basis (usually) or alternating remedies 6. Have you read the Organon? (the main source to learn homeopathy and KNOW the principles) 7. How often do you read it? (most good homeopaths are reading it constantly or at least yearly) -------------------------------------------------------- Sheri Nakken, R.N., MA Vaccination Information & Choice Network, Nevada City CA & Wales UK $$ Donations to help in the work - accepted by Paypal account vaccineinfo@... Guest guest
Looking for a good support group for kids with asthma and allergies any suggestions? Although Holly has asthma too, its actually that I am needing support for. Found out today when we took him to the pulmonologist in Feb, he was breathing like a 50 year old smoker, at 14 and a non smoker ever, its not a good thing. Also found out today he is severely allergic to dust. Help friends!!!!
Guest guest
There is an awesome group for this: I am very active in that group as well.  It's called Families_ Dealing_With_ Asthma. They discuss both allergies and asthma and have been extremely helpful to me over the years.  Beth " We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust our sails " ________________________________ From: " ajaomom@... Guest guest
I know I haven't been on either board for a long time --trying to keep myself from becoming a " cybermom " lol! 's doing well in terms of being on the right meds and dosages. We also finally found a Ped. Pulm that is amazing! Gee, that only took 4 doctors to find and 2 years Cannot believe how hard it is sometimes to find a good specialist that accepts your insurance, sigh. I just posted a long post about Isabelle. Wish it was better news.. Good to hear from you! -Hadley > > > > There is an awesome group for this: I am very active in that group as well.  It's called Families_ Dealing_With_ Asthma. They discuss both allergies and asthma and have been extremely helpful to me over the years. > >  Beth > > " We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust our sails " > > > > > > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __ > > From: " ajaomom@ " <ajaomom@ > > > @group s.com > > Sent: Tue, April 27, 2010 10:23:20 PM > > Subject: OT: Asthma > > > >  > > Looking for a good support group for kids with asthma and allergies any > > suggestions?
