Hello Liz,

Those sound like fine careers. I wish I had had the opportunity of understanding

my physical challenge when I was younger then I could really put my effort into

it more. Yet there are reasons for everything. Definitely do what makes you

Happy LIz that is most important of all. I know I had to learn that the hard

way.

Take care,

Heidi

in Equine Studies (either business management or instruction or both) or Animal

Science or Zoology. If I don't work with horses for my career, I would like to

work with large cats or like zebras and giraffe's and elephants. :) I realize

that they all require a lot of standing, but I think I can do it for a while and

then maybe do office work or genetic stuff at a zoo. You know?

Hi, militiary and firefighter would be very hard to do if a person

has the problems with this disease I have. Those hoses are very

heavy and hard to hold. My uncle was one and I helped one day to put

out a fire, this was a few years ago and I could not control the

hose. And how to climb those ladders? With my feet, the other

firemen would have to rescue me from the ladder while the house

burned down. ha ha. I know the army has all that boot camp as my

cousin was in that. I could not ever make it throught that

experience. Teacher is good. home care worker as in house

cleaning? That would be difficult for me, but maybe not others. Home

care as in taking care of others with a health problems might be hard

to do for some. Is insurence agent on the list? That might be a

good one. Dan

alisha here,

well i know that my friend used to fly but can't anymore because she can't

pass the medical exam because of her CMT but she was one for many years.

as well for the fire fighter, i know of someone now retired who was a fire

fighter and has CMT.

of course at the time these people weren't severely affected by there CMT as

they r now.

i think that its possible to do anything we set our minds to

Hello ,

My experience was to find a job that involved sitting, walking, and after work

lying down. Tt seems that changing positions during the day helps.

Also, any method to relieve built up stresses and stiffness during the

day helps a great deal. I had stress relief exercises that could be done in 5

minutes at my desk recommended by a doctor. Finally, pay attention to your

limitations and DON'T overdo. As you get older

these limitations will become more important.
