Guest guest
Hello To All. I haven't posted lately but I have been reading the e-mails. My prayers are with everyone !! Well REMICADE is not our answer. We almost lost Emmie last Friday. We were about into 5 minutes into the drip for her 2nd infusion and bottomed out on us. Her blood pressure dropped, heart rate was over 184, she went from completely flushed, swelling of the mouth and tongue to completely white and started vomiting. They immediately put her on oxygen and a pulse and shot her with benadryl and solumedrol. They said she had an anaphylactic shock reaction to the Remicade. Since then she's been completely dizzy and headaches. I called her Rheumy to see if it could be anything they gave her friday and he said no. I've been giving her dramamine to help with the dizziness. We seen her Rheumy and Eye Dr. wednesday b/c it was not getting any better. Rheumy said she looked fine to him??? OK..... He ordered a dexa scan of her bones. Her eye Dr. said it could be all the steriods causing that feeling. She said to give her benadryl until she feels better twice a day. So we are currently tappering steriods and will be off of them tomorrow.... We seen her ENT yesterday and he's concerned and hope nothing happened that Friday with nerves or arteries. He said if the dizziness didn't stop then he wants to order a MRI. Well she's still complaining of dizziness and headaches. As of two hours ago she broke out in a rash all over her arms and legs. I looked at the photos and it's not as severe as some YET... but it does look like a systemic rash. Emmie has been on Enbrel for 7 yrs and has never had a rash until now. We are trying to get the OK for Humira. What should I do?? Call her Rheumy ? I gave her benadryl. It's a red rash under the skin and you can still see it. It itches. Can anyone give me advice on what I need to do for a possible systemic rash ? Thanks to everyone. Sending out Prayers and Hugs to everyone on the JRA List.
