Guest guest
That's good and hopefully gives you some peace of mind. Let us know what the cardiologist has to say tomorrow. I'm glad to hear you're going, the heart isn't something to mess around with. Could be nothing, but better safe than sorry. My nose is causing me the same grief and it's driving me nuts!! I've had sinus problems forever and it's been a dust bowl around here this fall so I've had a sore bloody nose for months which makes our trash a bio-hazard. Thankfully it rained last night (still coming down) and my nose feels pretty good this morning. My Mother in law managed to put a lot of nonsense, fears and alergies into my husband's head when he was growing up, and humidifiers are one of the evils of the world. (oh brother. lol) It's been a 10 year battle to get one in the house but I said to hell with it the other night and ordered a nice Honeywell floor model with ionic plates for air cleaning. Once he heard the air will be filtered he chilled out and shut up. Yep, more water is good and I've gotten off track with that. I start new today though and I'm sure it'll make a difference. ;-) Thanks by the way, I do feel better this morning. I decided to wean myself off of the anti depressants because I want my liver doing as little work as possible and that's been making life a nightmare. The flashes and noise behind my eyes is so strange and makes my head spin. Good thing I have a lot of guns, if I go completely nuts I'll have a nice selection to choose from. lmao I'm kidding of course..lol Have a great day. ttfn, Gayle > > Well, I had an EKG last week that said I was OK and I'm seeing my > cardiologist this Wednesday just to get his opinion. > > > > As far as sinus problems, my nose has been awful! Guest guest
Hello, I hope everyone is doing good. I know some of you are getting some outrageous weather. Here in Texas we had an ice storm last night, but it wasn't too bad here in central Texas. I wish everyone else was as fortunate. Well, we finally got in to see the rheumy this morning. On my way there I was called by the imaging center and the authorization for 's MRI's were finally approved. Well when the rheumy saw her hands it was apparent to him of the damage that was taking place and he no longer needed the MRI to tell him. So she will be getting 8 injections to her wrist and fingers. She is not real excited about this, but is prepared to have it done so long as her finger start feeling better. He is now ordering MRI's of her feet. He thinks she will need injections there as well and wants to get them all done at once since she will be put under while they are done. We discussed her getting off the steroids again, but again he doesn't want to stop them until we get her on other medication. He was going to start her on plaquenil, but because she has ringing in her ears he wouldn't start her on it. Apparently ringing in the ears while your on plaquenil is a sign of complications and he wouldn't be able to tell if it's her normal ringing or if it's due to complications. So off to the ENT we go to see what the ringing is from. We are going to try to do Orencia infussions. We have to get insurance authorization, but they have already denied it once. Apparently they started the process prior to talking to me about it, but I didn't mind. At least they rheumy is finally listening to us. Poor has been miserable. She is now optimistic again. =) So, all in all it was a good appointment today. We feel like we are headed in the right direction again instead of just spinning our wheels. Now, my next task is finding out whats going on with Jayna. Her rheumy appointment is in 3 weeks. =) Thank you all for listening. I don't know what I would do without this group. Hugs to you all, 15, Poly JRA, asthma, chronic hives, back problems, IBS Jayna 12, ADHD, Tourette's Syndrome, OCD, ODD, positive ANA
Guest guest
Hi, Plaquenil is like an old, ancient drug that realy doesn't do much unless added to stronger drugs.I can't believe they even prescribe it anymore. Now starting Methotrexate is a differant story but you didn't mention it.From what you described AGRESSIVE is the way to go,you have to stop the inflimation that is causing damage. Steroid injections can work wonders until a DMARD or Biological kicks in.Glad to hear they will be useing general anastesia for so many joints. My only experiance was with my sons resistant lft ankle and he got a very potent consious sedation. His eyes were open but nobody was home as the doc put it.They even gave him an amnesia drug in his IV and it worked nicely.Something to consider, the longer you rest the joints that are injected the better.Kind of hard with fingers and feet but try and try hard.I hope everything goes well,I have been abcent from this list for so long I only know the old timers but still don't know up to date info.I joined in 2001 when my son just turned 3 he will be 11 in July. Nice to cyber meet you. Becki and 10 1/2 systemic onset round 2 of complete medicated remission ________________________________ From: J. Guest guest
Becki, I agree. I am all to familiar with plaquenil as I take it for my Lupus/mixed connective tissue disease, but I have elevated liver enzymes so I can't take many medications because of that. has been having a lot of problems for some time now. She is taking Arava for the last 5 months due to being allergice to Humira and Enbrel. She took remicade for 6 months until it stopped working. So we started Arava and immediately had to start prednisone for the first time since she was diagnosed in 2006. She has been on them since. The Arava is doing nothing for her and she has visible damage to her wrists and fingers. We are just fortunate the rheumy if finally listening to us and putting her on the Orencia. She was on methotrexate before as well and had to stop it to start the Arava. Yeah, I can't imagine her not being sedated for the injections. She's had injections done on her wrists before, but it was back in 2007. She is not thrilled about " having needles put in her fingers " as she put it but she said it's better than the pain she feels now and having her fingers two times their normal size. They did say she will have to be bed ridden for 2 days after the injections. Well, I better be off to bed. It was nice to meet you as well. > > Hi, > Plaquenil is like an old, ancient drug that realy doesn't do much unless added to stronger drugs.I can't believe they even prescribe it anymore. > Becki and 10 1/2 systemic onset round 2 of complete medicated remission > > > > > ________________________________ > From: J.
