Guest guest
Betty: I hope all goes well for . I have not posted here in a long time and trying to catch up on reading here. You certainly have a handful and are to be commended for taking on this responsibility. My youngest is anemic and next week going for his iron test again. I hope now that I am giving him three doses a day that the numbers have gone up for him. I inquired about iron shots but they say that is risky. He is also nonverbal but instead of putting him on Risperdal he was given two cans of ensure plus a day but that is when he started eating paint chips and since my ex was on Risperdal for his Schizophrenia I saw the way he balllooned up and the Dr did not thing meds was the answer for him at the time. Since he only drinks the bottle not sure what meds come in liquid form either, but a Develp Ped at the feeding clinic I got to talk to for fifteen minutes suggested Celexa for both my kids. The almost eight year old HFA seems to be emerging with OCD and Tourettes and I want some sort of anxiety med but since I have HMO medical it is impossible to get anything, my only choice is a walk in mental health clinic and being in Los Angeles it would be like four hours the first visit and my son is on winter break now. Anyway I tend to go on and on and just wanted to wish well and please keep us posted. Bonnie Sayers http://www.epinions.com/user-bonniesayers - there is a picture of both my kids on this page. Surgery for has been having quite a time with her hospital experience. Last night they gave her two pints of blood because she was anemic. Exploratory surgery was suppose to be at 8 a.m. this morning. She was begging for a drink since she had not been allowed anything to eat or drink pending surgery so they let her have ice chips from 6 p.m. to midnight. Then come morning they find that she is low on potassium. So this morning instead of surgery they start her on a potassium drip. By now the surgery was suppose to be at noon. Finally at 2 p.m. she goes into surgery. She had a burst appendix and is now recovering in her room. She has at least two days to spend there. I want to thank everyone for their concern and their prayers. Of course, she is not out of the woods yet but at least they know what to treat her for and that has begun. The boys are more settle about her being gone for a few days. We made her a ballon bouquet with a ballon to represent each one in the family. Guest guest
, I am sorry to hear that has to have surgery. Hopefully this will take care of things so she doesn't have to deal with this again. I will pray for a speedy recovery and for her not to flare any more than she has. Hugs, mom to 15, Poly JRA, asthma, IBS, chronic hives, back problems and Jayna 12, ADHD, tourette's syndrome, OCD, ODD, elevated ANA > > has had a sinus infection for 5 months, and been on as many different antibiotics; for her, chronic sinus infections are one effect of her PIDD (primary immune deficiency disease). The infections have caused polyps in her maxillary sinuses that are both keeping her infected, and blocking drainage. A couple weeks ago, the infection became very acute, and since then she has had a severe cough, with significant wheezing; inhaled steroids did not help at all, so her rheumy removed her from her Enbrel and Arava and put her on prednisone. Even prior to the acute infection and withdrawal of her arthritis meds, her sed rate was significantly elevated and she was experiencing increased knee and ankle pain. She has also been off of her Celebrex for two weeks now and is hurting in her hips and elbows as well. > > She will have sinus surgery on Wednesday morning. I don't know how long she will have to remain off of Enbrel and Arava, but at least another week. The prednisone is helping, I am sure, but not nearly enough. After three years of being unable to attend school, she just started at the local college (2 classes) and literally dragged herself for the first two classes last week. She was SO excited! Her outlook on everything is very positive, although she is a bit nervous about the surgery. I am praying she can come through this and heal without incident or greater flare and get to feeling a little better. > > Thank you for any extra prayers. > > , mom to (18, poly, pidd) > > > > > >

Guest guest
Not a bad surgery. Keep the room humid if you are in dry area. Both my kids did it doing it in the winter was worse. Keep them comfortable. Guest guest
Thanks, . She just wants to get feeling better, she has had such intense facial pain for so long now. She had this surgery when she was only 4, but she doesn't remember too much. She will do fine - she just needs to be back on her arthritis meds! How are you feeling? The cold cannot be helping! Thanks again for the prayers. From: and Schulz <snooksmama@...> Subject: Re: surgery for Date: Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 3:52 AM I'm so sorry to hear this news.
