Dear Teri; said and done. Life is so tough at times but you will

have our prayers and if we can help in any way, even to listen we are

here. Love and prayers for you and your family, Melt

Dear Teri,

I just wanted you to know I was thinking about you during this difficult

time. It sounds like there are decisions to be made, that no one should have

to make. I hope all goes the right way for you and your family.

Best regards,

Teri, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I will be praying for you and your

family. I hope that things will work out. I know that stress sure can be a big

part of illness so even though things might get rough take time to " chill out " a

few minutes each day. Love,

Dear All,

I've been very quiet for a few months as I was preparing to start my new

full-time job. Today was the start of week 4 & the second week of classes

(I teach/coord at a community college). It's been tough, but I've been

holding up okay. This morning, however, I rec'd a call from one of my

sisters. My dad, who had been living with me up until 2 weeks ago, was

having difficulty breathing. Long story short--he's on a ventilator (at his

request) and the verdict is still out. The docs are thinking that it is a

heart attack, but aren't completely sure. He is diabetic (finally in better

control this last month after years of never being controlled), survived

stomach cancer 8 yrs ago & has 1/2 stomach, had a massive heart attack 4 yrs

ago with no residual dammage, and is 90yrs old, but according to drs has the

body of a man in his late 60s. In any case, until today, he'd always said

no extreme measures, etc. Tomorrow they will probably take him off the

ventilator as his lungs look like they will be clear. Please pray that we

(my sisters, brother, & I) will not have to make any life decisions as my

father's wishes really aren't all that clear right now. I think I know what

he would want, but so do each of my siblings and we generally don't have the

same perspective on things. Also, as you all know stress is definitely not

our friend and both my sister who has MS and I really can't afford any

flares right now.

Thanks so much.

Blessings,

Teri

Hello everyone:

I am asking for prayers today for my cousin (he's actually my cousin's

son, but as close to me as my own kids).  He is just 22 years old and has been

ill for quite a while.  He was finally diagnosed with severe colitis a few

months back and has gotten progressively worse.  His best hope for a normal life

now is to go in and remove his colon.  That is going to take place on Wednesday

and he could use some hefty prayers.  He is way too young to have endure

this major of a surgery.  If all goes well they will go back in 3-6 months

and do reconstructive surgery and basically  make him a new colon.

Thanks in advance everyone, I'm very worried about him, like I said I love

him like one of my own kids.  He comes to me with all the things a young adult

doesn't necessarily want to talk to mom about.

Beth :)
