Guest guest
Hi all, My daughter Lexi? (7, poly JRA, hypothyroidism) has been having consistent stomach pain as well as appetite issues for the past 2 years or so.??She spends quite a bit of time in the bathroom and her digestion seems?to be a bit off since she seems to struggle to " produce " anything, although when she does, it does not look like constipation is the culprit.? She describes the pain as a very bad " ache " , not sharp pain, and we've tried giving her antacids, benefiber, and just making sure she gets lots of fiber in her food, plus last year we tried taking her off all dairy for 3 weeks to see if there was a difference - all to no avail.? This stomach pain seems to fluxuate, sometimes keeping? her up at night and it affects her almost every morning.? We have similar issues with her oldest sister (no JRA or any disabilities), and she ALSO has missed quite a bit of school over the last 2-3 years because of stomach pain and consistent diarrhea or?constipation.? The doctors have had no idea what to think and have only been able to speculate that for her it may be the result of anxiety.? Anyone have any thoughts though on Lexi's stomach issues?? The meds she is on are Enbrel (1 injection per week), naproxyn when needed, and levothyroxine.? thanks! (Arvada, CO. mom to 4 kiddos - 3 of whom have special needs)
