Guest guest
G'day all, I hope 'Arthur' is playing nice for the most part, and not causing too much grief for those moving into full-on winter, with its cold starts. On the flipside, we're approaching summer here so have to watch the humidity. As far as our lot is concerned, Bayly is doing very well on the Enbrel trial- he's been able to go cold turkey on Prednisolone as of mid-October. By the end of that month, at the most recent check-up for the study, the doc couldn't find a single active joint! Yep, zero joint count for Master B for the first time ever- over 7.5 years!! We were cheering, to put it mildly. Grant had to do the 8+ hour round trip due to my still-enforced mobility (right leg still paralysed unfortunately) and found it to be a ... let's say challenging experience to say the least. Exhausting was another word he used, along with a number of expletives I couldn't possibly repeat here. [] Grant's never flown solo with the whole JIA thing until now, so it was a real eye-opener. Unfortunately, Bay's neck has decided to grumble a little bit when we saw the Paed Rheumy mid-November, it's grumbling still but not slowing him down too much, which is awesome. Every time we've ever tried to wean the Pred, Bayly's had a flare-up so we're hoping it stays away this time. As for me, I see the neurosurgeon again next Friday. The foot drop is improving very slowly, but falling over and spraining my ankle- twice mind you- isn't helping the healing. And we just have to wait and see if I ever regain full feeling in my leg. Anyway, take care everyone, Jo Bayly, 8, eoJIA PS: Just saw " Megamind " at the movies, thank to our state Arthritis Foundation.... hilarious!
