Guest guest
Hi , Sorry that Jana is flaring. My 8 1/2 year old daughter also has systemic jra and she has had it since the age of three. I know what it is like to hope that JRA is " gone " only to have it reappear. Hopefully you get the flare under control quickly. is currently on Arava, Orencia, and prednisone 5mgs a day. She just had ankles, wrist and knee injected, and seems to be doing well. I will pray that Jana improves. Keep your spirits up! Sophie > > Just checking in, a long time lurker. Jana, my five year old, is in her first big flair in 2 years of percolating at a low level, as her rheumatologist called it. She seems to be on every med you all have listed; she has been on enbrel, 2 shots a week, arava daily, thalomid daily, and then they added prednisone 20 mg 2x per day and we have only been able to wean down to 22 mg/day and now have added methotrexate every saturday. that is five immunosupporessant meds plus folic acid, multivitamin and prevacid solutab. She only weighs 47 pounds, was only 43 pounds before the steriods. she doesn't seem overly bothered by the new meds, although I notice she is extremely sensitive to sounds, keeps telling us we are breaking her ears. > we are having labs tomorrow to see how she is doing after 2 weeks on the methotrexate. I guess I thought this would't happen again, her first round was at 9 months of age, and i kind of hoped we were through the worst of it all. > , and Jana 5 yo systemic JIA > > > > >
