Guest guest
Just wanted to get some other points of view on this. My 5 year old has had flares of Uvietis four times since Christmas. Today we went back in to get her eyes checked. She has it AGAIN!! na is on MTX injections right now and was told at her last visit that if she continued to get the Uveitis that she would have to maybe try a biologic secondary to her MTX to get the Uvieits into remission. So sure enough she has it again. The doc started to send us home yet again with a prescription for Predforte. So I asked what all these flares and Steroids are doing to her eyes. He told us that she has a tiny spot of Cataract now. Then I asked about the Biologics that are out now, and he wrote the names out of Remicade and Humira for me to look up at home. We have another apt in 6 weeks to check her out again. I'm angry that she even has the Cataract. Her Ophthalmologist and her Rheumy should have had this under control already (I think). Am I overacting? My husband says we should listen to the doctors but meanwhile her eyes are being damaged. I think we should be doing everything and anything to get this under control.... NOW. Should I call her Rheumy and tell her I want her to go onto a Bio? Please give me your opinions.
