Guest guest
Hi, I mostly lurk on the board but my son (ph) had an appt. today with his doctor and his last set of bloodwork showed that his sed rate has come down (was 82 now 44) his CRP also came down from 180 to 52. So his inflamation markers are still not normal but definitly better since being on the naproxen. His platlets came down to a normal range as well. But he is still anemic and his reticulocyte count is elevated, so according to the doc his bone marrow is functioning properly and making the RBCs but the increase in production is not reflected in his RBC counts. He has been anemic since birth - he is now almost 15 months and vitamins with iron supplement doesn't seem to help. I was wondering if anybody else has had a problem with anemia and if they have found a successful way of controlling it? ph has to go back to the rheum. doctor on the 17th - they did another set of labs today to see if his levels are still coming down and to see what his RBC are doing. Thanks for any input, Tracey & ph (15months, Systemic JRA)
