Do you take any medications other then marijuana? Some times medications can

cause there problems.

(2)- There is a 50/50 chance that your children will have CMT. If the Dr's

said myelin, its probably a type 1 CMT. Types 2 have axonal loss, types 1

myelin.

(3)- Marijuana is used by some persons with CMT with good results. Its good

for spasms, cramping of muscles and for PAIN. I can attest to that.

i live in switzerland, im 18 and im doing an apprenticeship as a

chemistry lab assistant. i know that i have cmt since im 14 or so. i

have had diffrent foot surgeries and can be the whoole day on my legs

because of my walkaids. i can live well with them and im very

thankful to them too, because i cant walk without them...

now ive got some questions about cmt:

1. does this desease do something with the brain?

i have problems with concentrating myself. i often think " in loops "

and its hard to get out of them. those loops distract me from my

work. i did an two days long iq-test in a hospital, i was good, but i

dont feel weak in this iq-things, its more the reactions in difficult

situations, wich are stress-situatins by the work for example.

2. does my children have cmt too?

i dont know what cmt i have, the doctors said something because

myelin. im the first case in my family, so its a new mutation.

3. does thc have an influence to this desease?

dont laugh, please! :-) but if i " abuse " marihuana, my really ugly

handwrite turns into a more or less readable handwrite for at least 2

days. and i feel less distraction. i have only noticed it 2 times, so

im not shure if it happens after abusing or if it is just by accidant.

id like to thank john collis, who said to me that this mailing group

gretchen and rewbecca: neurotonin and elavil are medicines? i have

never had such pains you had... im sorry for that! as i was young, i

couldnt sleep because of prickling legs, like ants under the skin,

but this was no pain. and now its no more a problem... funny!

lisa: thanks for your welcome too!

rewbecca: thanks for the messages about Neuropathic Pain. my walkaids

are carbon and plastic " boots " . its not really a boot, because its

open in the front. over them i can wear normal shoes. does anyone of

you wear such things?

i ask myself, are there more female than male with cmt? in this group

there are, i think... is this because men dont like to speak about

problems? :-D

and: does cmters often have problems with their weight? because of

the other mail group. i dont have any problems with my weight...
