rheumy visit?

We've had this ongoing thing for the last year where Lucy complains of pain

and I take her to the rheumy and she can't feel any inflammation. We even

did an MRI of her jaw and there was no inflammation. So last time we were

there the rheumy offered to switch Lucy from Enbrel to Humira to see if it

would help with the pain more, or, go off the Enbrel and see if she flared.

It's been two months since she's been off Enbrel and now that the weather is

changing she is complaining that her wrists hurt. They seem kind of stiff

in the morning, but they are not swollen. My question is: do I call the

rheumy now, or wait to see if they get swollen or more stiff? I hate, hate,

hate going to the rheumy and having her tell us there's nothing wrong!

That's a tricky one. We just had xrays of 's right ankle because in the

months before we started kineret she could barely walk on it at times -

especially after playing soccer. She was in so much pain, but the xrays didn't

show anything. I can't remember if the ankle was swollen upon exam; I think it

was. Since started kineret two weeks ago she hasn't had ankle pain at

all, or just barely but only after a hard soccer match. As far as wrists are

concerned, we also got them xrayed and there was some slight damage there but

nothing serious. And since hadn't complained of wrist pain in quite a

while I was surpised that the xrays showed anything. So, why not call? Just to

keep them in the loop at least.

p.s. I seem to remember you are from Colorado?! Are you taking Lucy to the

Denver family event " Arthritis Isn't Scary " - we'll be there; would be great to

have Lucy and meet!

nn - I talked to the nurse yesterday and they want to see her to see

what's going on. So we'll see on Thursday.

Yes, we're in Colorado. When is the event? I haven't paid much attention

to my Arthritis Foundation mail. I broke my leg at work and have had

trouble doing EVERYTHING!

It would be fun to have and Lucy meet. Do you think will go to

JRA Camp next summer? Lucy loved it and made good friends, including Lexi

from this group.

Hi Amy, Sorry about your leg!! The " Arthritis Isn't Scary " event is Sunday,

October 24th, 1-3pm, at the foundation office in Denver. I guess the kids can

come in costume and do trick or treating, and they'll be some games and crafts.

I hope will be up for camp next summer. We were too new to this for this

past summer, and she was still flaring pretty badly, but hopefully if the

kineret keeps working, or something else .... would love for them to meet. We

are in Fort .

Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone. I'll let you know what happens.

nn - hopefully will be doing well enough to go next summer. Lucy

loved it. I don't think we'll make the arthritis day this time. I'm

supposed to be off crutches in about 10 days and then my house/laundry etc.

need my attention after 6 weeks on crutches!
