My feet and all of my childrens feet were just perfect at birth. They still

take the foot print but don't give it to you on the cert anymore.

I was born in 54 in Knoxville, Tn. There were no feet stamped on my birth

certificate, but I do have them of my 2 children. The oldest born in Tucson,

Az. the youngest born in Knoxville.

Gretchen,

Some hospitals do this and other's do not. On my legal birth certificate

(the one that is filed) they are not there, but the hospital gave a fancy

certificate that had them (Hospital Birth Certificate). That was in 1947.

When my son was born in 1984 we did not get one. I complained to the

hospital administrator (whom I personally know) and they have since started

back. In most hospitals they have made the footprints at birth to help

eliminate any possibility of getting babies mixed. So they probably exist

as a part of the hospital record but may not have been given to the parents.

My feet too, in 1957, but not my children in '82, '88 and '89 and they were

all born in different hospitals (last one was born in Germany!)

Jordan had his feet stamped on his " hospital birth certificate " , not the one

filed through the county/state. He was born in 1983.

Gretchen, It's done in Louisiana. My footprints were taken and my children's

footprints were taken and the last baby born in our family a couple of years

ago had his feet printed. By the way, my feet were deformed at birth, my

right foot was turned in badly. I had high arches since I can remember. A

friend I grew up with said she always wanted feet like mine because she

thought my arches were so pretty. She says she really feels ashamed of that

now. I told her don't worry about it, it makes me feel good that someone else

saw only the good. C

,

My daughter Katey (an 11-yr-old CMTer) has very high arches and is

proud of them. She loves the way they look. She is afraid that

surgery, which is a possibility sometime in her future, may change

the way her feet look. She doesn't want to lose her arches!
