Guest guest
The cold weather bothers me too. I have heat packs that go into my pockets they work pretty good. Not great but I get really cold without them. You can also get heated gloves and socks. The glove guy told me he makes lots of gloves for people that get to cold. Nice to meet you. Guest guest
Hi, concerning the muscle cramps. I get them from dual problems, CMT and thyroid. I take SloMag (A slow-release magnesium tablet) and calcium (both because of the thyroid ). The calcium was a no-brainer. I had to have it after my thyroid was removed, but still had really bad cramps. But the SloMag has made all the difference. My endocrinologist didn't think I needed Slo-Mag, but my internist (God love him) said " Trust me, it helps " and it did. Also, if you are having a cramp that doesn't want to release, I find hobbling to the shower (I have a detachable wand) and running very warm water over the leg or muscle in question relaxes it. Mine usually act up when I overexercise. On the other hand, the physical therapy I started two weeks ago has really helped stretch those muscles and increase flexibility and the cramps have slowed down. That's just my experience. It certainly might not be true for all. Jane > << True words I'm sure, but that doesn't help much at 3 AM while you are > laying doubled over on the bedroom floor from a leg cramp.
