Donna,

Try this ok. Find out what Company was open back then and call each one they would have to have a record of the Order. Maybe by a Dr's name or Patients name. What Company did that Dr use?

This is where keeping a Personal Record comes in handy. If the Dr retired then calling that Dr may help him ring a bell with your name. Was the Surgery done with Insurance? If so maybe going back to that Insurance and hoping they have a record of the Cost and maybe some tell tell information. If the Hospital has sent records to be stored then you might be able to retrieve something.

Some Dr's keep records at home if the patient has not been seen in a while. I think going through a Company which was producing the Joints then would be best. DO you know anyone who used that Hospital or Dr who did your Surgery JUST maybe they used the same products. Wish I had known you were having this issue and you are on a short time limit as well.

We tried thru insurance and we have found some records but not the specific operating report and/ or implant sheet. I have been trying to contact the original surgeon who does work part time now but have had no luck HOWEVER I have it on my appointment calendar and he has it on his that Monday we will talk so I am hoping he recalls. I know he knows me and knows me well, I went to him from the time I was 8 until I was 38......

Keepin fingers crossed...

Donna,

When I started searching for Medical Records on myself due to a Surgery when I was a kid. The Hospital had only 1 sheet of paper in my record. But they told me they have to hold them for 50 yrs in a secured location. Where? Never have found them. This is why I got copies of every record has.

I hope this Dr can shed light on it for you.

Usually, they give you a card as to the type of replacement you had. I guess you didn't get one??

Can you contact the doc that your records were transferred to?Norton's med records are horrible. I had to wait about 2 months last year to get Rob's from his chest surgery, so I could prove how much they OVERCHARGED us.

Who is doing your surgery???

I'm going out of town for the week, but I'll be praying for you this week! Hope all works out. Take care. and Rob 19 JAS medical records dilemma , ajao_young_adults > I am so upset. Donna,

Ok this may be a Stupid question ok. But I have to ask it. When

was on a few Medications The Pharmacy gave me a Emergency Card for her to

carry. This was on the Drug Company Card about like they wanted to make sure if

a

person took the medication it would be on the Emergency Card as well. My

hubby has a Card which he is suppose to carry which is from the Drug Makers and

it states he is on Coumadin. It also has a Medical History on it.

Does the card you have ummm have any thing like that on it?

Well Donna,

Wish I could help more but maybe that Dr will shed light on it.

Now you know there's always a brighter side to thing's. If you were a car

they would have a code to look at. Do they put a Serial Number on the

Joint's? Is there any number's on the Cards? If I went to a Auto parts place I

would have a choice getting a part. 1 yr warranty or a Lifetime Warranty. Plus

with my Auto Parts store they keep a record in that Computer. Ok, I am grasping

at straws to help in some way though. :-).

Now to make you laugh some. Call the parts store and ask for a Hip

Joint..... Year would be the year you had it put in. Maybe in the future we

will

have something called the Joint Store and we could do this.
