Guest guest
Deb: Allot of it will depend on the individual case and type of implants you have, placement, under or over, textured or smooth, saline or silicone gel, and the skill of your surgeon etc.....so take all these things into consideration, also if you have a lift done at the same time you will have a longer recovery time. I had a tough time, and long recovery period, however I was back at work in a little over a week so even though I had pain and stictches and all I was able to work pretty much right away. Anyhow I would plan for being laid up for at least 2 weeks if your working that way you can rest and recover, the more time you can take to rest the better. Good luck to you In @y..., " Deb " <wwjddeb_99@y...> wrote: > Hello Sisters! > I hope that God has blessed you in many ways today! My qestion has a > lot of " if " in it I know. Guest guest
Deb, Average recover times varies from person to person. I have spoken to women who are still hurting and out of work 3 wks after the procedure, while I have spoken to others who are back to work in 1 wk. I had quite a mess inside me. I had silicone which had leaked from the shell of the implant all over my left breast. Dr. Huang had to do a lot of scraping to get it off and to get the implant out. She figured I would have a lot of pain for that reason. I did have severe pain that day, but by 2 days postop, the pain was practically gone. I was back to work in 10 days, and while I had lifting restrictions of 10 pds, I was able to work in the recovery room doing everything I normally do except transport pts. I had JP drains for 7 days, as I drained a lot!! Every once in a while those pull and tug and cause some pain. But overall, it was rather easy---much easier than getting the implants placed!! It seems like the majority of women are feeling better and able to go back to work wihin 1 wk to 10 days. But again, it varies from woman to woman. e
Guest guest
Hi Deb, I am so glad to hear that you have scheduled your explant. Keep us informed how things come along! As for recovery, it took me about a week to get up and around real good, and a further couple weeks to be able to lift heavy things (like my 3 year old....) I am sure you will do fine. It will be interesting to see what comes out of you after 22 years with those things, sheesh, that is a long time! Hard to believe since I only had mine for 9 months. I got ripped off totally! Well, we all did.... Stay in touch...is insurance going to pay for it?
