Guest guest
Hi everyone, Our dear friend is once again going in today for surgery to have her eyes and her knee injected. Her eyes have been so hard to get under control and still are not. She has cataracts developing on both eyes. Please pray for a successful outcome to these injections. Caroline is such a trooper and she deserves a break. I think Alia could use some good news too. She is schdeuled for 1.40pm ( MN time) so if everyone can think of her then and wish her well I know it would help! The power of pray is amazing. hugs Helen and (10,systemic)

Guest guest
Hi everyone..... Thank you soo much for all your kind well wishes. Caroline's injections went VERY well. Dr. Bothun was so great with her this time, we are truly lucky to have him. He decided he wanted to try do the eye exam prior to putting her under (our original plan) because that would require less anesthesia... He raced Caroline (literally in a wheelchair - even popped a few wheelies!) around the hospital looking for a slit lamp. Finally we did the exam and he found inflammtion still in both eyes so off the the OR we went.... Caroline go another 10mg of Kenalog (a steroid) injected into her left eye and 30mg into her right eye. As we just injected her left eye at the end of January, he didn't want to do as much... She now has cataracts in both eyes and her pressure is continuing to rise. We will most likely be starting glaucoma/pressure reducing drops in two weeks. All in all, everything went well. While this has been a long hard road for Miss C, we are grateful for her doc's and all they are doing to save her eyes... So, thank you again for all your kind words and we hope that one day all of our kids can be " free of arthur " !!! Alia and Caroline, age 6, poly and uveitis Evan Guy, age 2 1/2 Greer Alin, 5 months!!! Guest guest
Hi Alia: I read with great sadness that Miss Caroline has developed cataracts. This disease just plain SUCKS! I pray she keeps her vision and the latest injections help her. She is such a brave little girl. I like the story of her doc racing her around in a wheelchair, bet she got a kick out of that:) Thank goodness for docs who not only have the skill to help, but compassion and personality too. I can't believe she is 6, Evan is 2 1/2 and Greer is 5 months! OMG....time goes by so fast. Take care. Patty **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home. We will continue to keep Caroline and your family in our prayers, especially that such a precious child can retain her precious eyesight. Alia Pranke <aliaalan@...> wrote: Hi everyone.....
