Guest guest
Sandi, Allie has been on Humira 4 years. It has been the best thing we ever did for her. it was really hard to make the decision, but it was a great thing. Please be aware that the shots are painful. Allie has a real routine......ice the spot. Make sure the spot is numb. really numb. It doesn't hurt quite so much. Allie does it in her leg. I know other people do it in their stomach but psychologically it works for Allie in her leg. We have never done Remicaid or Enbrel, this was our first weapon of choice, and it has worked well. Allie started out without methotrexate, but has had to add it to the routine, and recently it went to injectable. Good luck and be patient. There isn't the miracle pill, but maybe this is the right direction. and Allie (11 poly) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of deerhuntert6@... Guest guest
sandi: my daughter anabelle started 15mg of methotrexate/week (and folic acid-protects the liver) for her uveitis and pauci JIA around age two and since we have added 20mg Humira every other week also by injection. Studies show repeatedly that the injectable form of methotrexate works MUCH better than the oral form so have this discussion with your rhematologist. let's hope that this will be enough and that your little one will be spared adding a biologic agent such as humira, enbrel or remicade! neal and cheri, (anabelle 3, uveitis/pauci) ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
