Guest guest Posted December 25, 2007 Report Share Posted December 25, 2007 We are still so thankful that Rob is ok. His eye, amazingly, is great...no more pain. At the eye doctor on Monday all looked fine. He continues with drops and goes back for a recheck next week. Also found out the calcifications are in his tear ducts, so we'll check on that too. We had a wonderful day today and feel so very blessed. My family was here and everyone was just so glad that Rob was ok. I spoke to Uncle Rusty today and he says he is doing fine. I also talked to Tree, she had a couple of miracles herself this Christmas, one being qualifying for handicapped accessible transportation, and she is planning on going back to rehab 3 days a week and also volunteering at Center for Accessible Living, where she used to work. They had also drastically raised the taxes on the home that her brother and cousin expanded to make accessible. They didn't add any bathrooms or bedrooms, the numbers stayed the same. But they did add several hundred feet of living space, in order to enlarge the bathroom so her wheelchair could roll in it, and make the doorways and their bedroom larger so they were accessible. The taxes were raised based on the added square footage, and it was unaffordable. so that it was going to force them to sell!! She wrote a SEVEN page letter to the local TV station (WAVE 3 Troubleshooter) and with several phone calls, got that issue resolved as well! So she is having some blessings come her way. I wish all of you a wonderful New Year and hopefully, we are heading nearer and nearer to a cure for JRA!!
