Guest guest
Hello all-- I am somewhat new to the list and this is my first post. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered... I have a two year old who has been diagnosed with JRA, but so far it has only involved one knee, as far as we can tell. I took him to the opthamologist to be screened for uveitis 4 or 5 months ago, and he is scheduled to go back for another screening in a few weeks. The first trip to the opthamologist was a nightmare. Although it was at a Children's hospital, they seemed to have no skill in actually dealing with children. He freaked out to have drops put in his eyes, and then the 45 minute wait until his eyes dilated gave him lots of time to think about it and freak out even more when the doctor tried to look in his eyes. I wondered if anyone has any tips for making this go more smoothly with a little person who doesn't really understand what's happening.... Thanks in advance..(and Happy Thanksgiving!!)
