Guest guest
- Thanks for your note. Peds doc referred Dani to heme. Will let you know... Her ANA was on the high side once (speckled). Doc repeated studies a few times and they came up normal (but they tend to test her blood when she is rested in the AM and not in a flare-up). And there are questions about whether she can mount a proper response to the nucleus of cells, given her poor antibody function. Lehman says, in his book, that kids with low IgA have a higher rate of RA. D. definitely runs low, always, but I know other kids with low IgA and no joint pain. Anyone have experience with this? Robbin - Thanks for the feedback on WBCs. My daughter does not look anemic on paper and runs low WBCs with or without infections. Actually, her WBCs are close to normal range when she is infected. I think her entire immune system is " sluggish " as part of the CVID/hypogam. BUT, she does have that pale, gaunt, fatigue look a lot of the time...so it does make me wonder if she needs more iron, b12, or one of those blood related mins/vits... I can predict when she will be in pain based on the color of her skin and darkness under her eyes. She'll look toxic and then, a few hours later, tells me she is in pain. I wish I knew what was going on... Thanks again!
