Kylie's been flaring now for a while and the meds don't seem to be

helping...here's the story real quick-

In August we took her back to Dr. volger because her wrist was

swollen. Started back on Naproxen. Then we had her eyes checked and

her left eye was flaring for the first time. Not severe, but enough

to start eye drops. Dr. volger also put her back on mtx. Then she

started complaining about her ankle, and started having nosebleeds.

They took her off the naproxen for a week and her ankle began to

swell so we started trilisate. They said we should notice the

swelling go down within a couple days. It's been 8 days now and

though she is not complaining of pain, the swelling has not improved

at all. In fact I think it's worse and notice swelling in her knee

as well. They've upped her mtx to 0.6ml (in food) from the 0.4ml

they initially prescribed. Called them today and told them no change

and they want to see her tomorrow. Talked to hubby (who is ALWAYS

out of town) and he thinks I might be overreacting. He doesn't think

it's that bad because she's not complaining and doesn't think the

swelling is that bad. HELP! I don't know if I'm imagining the

swelling to be worse than it is or what! It's not like her ankle is

a golf ball, but the top of her foot and the front of where her foor

meets her leg is definately puffy. the top of her hand and the

bottom half of her knee...you do have to look to see it, but it's

obvious once you do.

Does pain have to be present for it to be bad? When this first

started last year her toes were so bad she couldn't walk down the

stairs. Now with all this swelling, she's still running and playing,

though it looks to me like it's a stiff run...

Sorry so long...Anyone??

Thanks

Tanis
