Carla,

I saw you post to Janet, that you meet her and her mother at clinic

before surgery, Me and my husband were there at the time to check things out

and to meet DrR. I do not know if you remember us, we sat in front of Janet

and her mom. I was the one from New York with my husband , and I said a

friend of my doctor , a dentist had the MGB with DrR and she was doing great

and told me about it , so we drove down to check things out. Where were you

sitting? So you have a picture on trish's website??? Well I'll meet you at

the picnic. Get things taken care of so you are ok for the picnic. I'm

praying for you.

I guess size depends on body type. Another MGBer who is 5'3 " and is 167 is

just about in 12 pants! Go figure.

I checked out your foto on Tricia;s site. I do remember you. You got your

staples out the day of my preop clinic. You look wonderful. Hope all is well

with your GB. Surgery is not fun is it?

See you in 3 weeks.

I am glad to hear that you are doing better. I know time must be creeping for

you, but there is an end in sight--keep that in mind.

Now, surely, there must be something a wife could think of doing while her

husband is immobilized that she couldn't do otherwise!!!!!! Take advantage of

this now that you know he is out of the woods.

Have you worked out a new routine since you have lost so much weight? You might

develop and try out a new one with your " captive " audience. Might even include

the drop-in guests that he has.

Here's hoping the recovery speeds up and you are both back to normal in record

time.

Hi,

My hubby is getting along better each day. It is a slow healing process with

broken bones but the hardest part for me is bringing him " up " emotionally each

day. I've put us both on a schedule this past month. At first I felt like a new

mother, when he slept... I slept. LOL but now, after helping him to his commode

in the morning, feeding and bathing him, he usually falls back to sleep just

long enough for me to clean house (never know when he'll get company) bath and

dress myself, and have something to eat. I usually hit the bed around 11:30 each

night and I'm up by 8 a.m. So, finally I am getting enough rest.

Thanks for asking! God gives us the strength we need right now and we are so

grateful to Him for that.

Hi Carla

I don't think there are many of us really heavyweights on the site that I have seen so far. I'm still trying to get a fill. I had lost 34 lbs. right after the surgery until I hit my 6th week and got really hungry and able to eat anything!! I have gained back 2 to 4 lbs depending on the day!! I'm trying to do the best I can until I can get a fill. I have arthritis in my knees and just a lot of other joint aches and pains at different times. It took me awhile after surgery (4 1/2 weeks) before I felt well enough and strong enough to do any exercise. I still don't do as much as I should but I try my best. I am doing a little walking at lunchtime at work when the weather permits but it does bother my hip when I walk a lot. I have a Tony Little Gazelle Glider at home that I try to use every other day for at least 10 min. I like using that because it is no pounding on the joints and kind of fun (if I could consider any exercise fun!). It has a weight limit of 350 lbs. but I had another brand with a weight limit of 250 and I used it when I weighed 300 with no problem. I'm not a real water lover and don't have the nerve to appear in public in a bathing suit but I know water therapy is very helpful and also easy on the joints. I will say that even losing the 34 lbs. has given me a little more energy than I had before. I can't wait to get back on track after a fill.

Dianne--by now I hope you have found someone to help youu with a fill. You are the firat one to have as much weight as me to loose. Tell me a little bit about you story--how things were before the fill --dio you have a lot of pain from the weight?were you able to exercise? and if not how much weight did you have to loose before you could exercise again. Right now I am having trouble moving at all--I have osteo arthritis in my back, hips, knees and feet and fibromyalgia on top of that. I was doing pool therapy for a while but transportation is another problem. I am trying to stay out of motorized chair. Carla

I know I need a fill but can't seem to get anyone around here to agree yet. I have to 'call back Monday' because they have to think about and review my records. I waited too long to start looking and I am so depressed!! I have gained back 4 lbs. already. We had a staff meeting at work and ordered pizza (my favorite food) I ate 4 slices and didn't even feel too full. Now I'm afraid of what I might do before I can get a fill!! I am an emotional eater like most of us and I am feeling really down that I can't seem to stop myself. I was feeling so good but old habits are beginning to sneak back in again.I just keep hearing the food calling me!!Dianne9/5/05363/was 329 now 333!!!!!

Hey Loretta,

Way to go girl I am so proud of you. 21 pounds that's awesome. I

have gone for a few walks. I have been working for a few weeks if

you can call it work. During the summer I only work about 2 1/2

hours per day. I start my mushies tomorrow. I can't say as I am

super excited because lately food does not really appeal to me.

Weird isn't it. I've been doing soups and drinking Life Water

because that seems to go down the best.

You keep up the good work and keep in touch.
