Guest guest
Maybe this has been posted before - if not maybe someone can use this. Recently Hunter was ordered Enbrel for her recent flare. MTX just wasn't cutting it. We were concerned over the cost due to our insurance has $1000.00 Deductible plus we pay 20% of the treatment. A friend of ours at Ft. Benning GA has a daughter who also has JRA. She informed me that they receive Katy Beckett Medicaid. This is when a child has long term chronic illness but can't qualify for medicaid or SSI due to the family income is too high. Get this - Her husband is a Lt Colonel in the army. We have applied and it looks like we qualify to. This will pay 100% of everything. It can take about 3 to get the process complete. The makers of Enbrel paid our deductible and is giving us $325.00 a month to cover the copay. I believe some states many not have " Beckett" but if yours does - I hope that it will help take some of the stress off of having this YUCKY disease. Also - Any parents out there who are from Georgia - our state government just passed a bill concerning children with special needs. We got a letter from our Superintendent yesterday - it states that if we are not satisfied with the school that our child attends - we can transfer to a school of our choice within the district. If we choose to send our child to a private school - the school district will reimburse us up to 40% of the tuition. It is accordance with the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship - at http://public.doe.k12.ga.us Sandi Ken and Hunter (9 Systemic)Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.
