Guest guest
Hi Carissa, Welcome to the board. My daughter sees Dr. Lasky at Children's Mercy, and so far we've been happy. We haven't met Dr. Becker yet, but 's daughter (I think) sees her. Not sure if they have a third doctor there or not. We started with a ped rheumy at KU med center then switched to Children's Mercy because it was a better fit for us. If you have any specific questions, feel free to e-mail me at nsigns@... Hoping all goes well for your daughter. ((Hugs)) Tracey and Madi (2yr systemic) > > Does anyone go to Children's Mercy? Guest guest
Really? Does Shriner have a better rheumy dept? If so, I'll keep that in mind. We live in Lawrence KS. I have been to Shriner with a friend whose daughter has spina bifida. I was really impressed with what I saw. My daughter hasn't been diagnosed yet, we're working on that. Guest guest
My son goes to Children's Mercy in KC we LOVE them! They are great we have seen most of them there some time or another I cant think of his name right now but the one we saw last summer was great! We have seen other Doctor's there too for our other son. Everyone there is great in the entire hospital very friendly and helpful. We went to Shriner's first in St. Louis our experience wasn't good but that doesn't mean yours wouldn't be. It took for ever there 3-4 hours and then told nothing was wrong which wasn't the case. So went to KC for a second opinion. ]- Get a sneak peak of the all-new AOL.com.
Guest guest
Carissa, I have been taking my daughter to KU Med Center in Kansas City to see our ped rheumy. She is really pretty good for getting the diagnosis. I get the feeling that if you have a child that is hard to diagnose or one with alot of problems she is good for that. After we got things under control I was not nearly as impressed with her, she seemed to not have the time to talk with us once we started doing better. If Jaye flares again we will be looking to change doctors and will probably go to Children's Mercy. We live near Wichita and it is a long drive but after listening to & Elaney's experience and also Tracey & Madi's I think I will change dr's. Veri & Jaye 13 poly (but doing oh so well for now) Re: Children's Mercy-KC >Date: Wed, 11 Jul 2007 15:35:53 -0700 (PDT) > >I have a doctor that goes their to the allergy doctor but our daughter that >has JRA goes to St. Louis to Shriners Hospital even though KC is closer. > Alesha > 10 systemic > >cari0227 <jctlanninghotmail> wrote: > Does anyone go to Children's Mercy? Guest guest
Okay, I know this is REALLY late but my computer died and I am trying to get caught up. My daughter Elaney goes to CMH and we really like Dr. Mara Becker. She is awesome. We have also seen Dr. Lasky. I personally did not get along to well with him but I know that others on this list like him. I think he knows his "stuff" but our personalities clashed. Maybe I am just hard to get along with!!!!--- & Elaney(13 oligo ext JA, heart defects, scoliosis)cari0227 <jctlanning@...> wrote: Does anyone go to Children's Mercy? Guest guest
I heard that Dr. Becker is going on maternity leave. We have an appointment now for Sept. 18. I don't know who with, I am assuming Dr Lasky since Dr Becker won't be there. It was very frustrating trying to make the appt because they only take new patients on Tuesday afternoons and I have to be back in Lawrence to pick up my older duaghter from school by 3:00. Right now our hour-long appt is at 1:45. They are going to try to change it when the new doc comes in to replace Dr Becker but as of now, my mom and dad are coming from Wichita-mom to go with me to the appt and dad is staying at my house to pick up my older daughter. .... I guess we'll see how it pans out. I was hoping for an appt before school started, but that is apparently not going to happen.
