Guest guest
Hi, I rarely post, but read daily and I have a question for those attending AJAO. Is anyone staying somewhere other than the Hershey Lodge. We are planning to attend, but I am looking for reservations elsewhere that are more in my budget. We will be receiving a scholarship from our local chapter, however it will only cover a portion of the hotel and registration expense. In order for us to be able to afford it without putting a strain on us, we are looking other places to stay. Does anyone know of other hotels close by that are more reasonable and okay? I appreciate your replies. and Kaylee, 4 poly in NC
Guest guest
A quick online search provided the following results, looking at an arrival of 1 July and a departure of 4 July~~ Cost is per night. Holiday Inn, Hershey-- $165- $216 Rodeway Inn, Hershey-- $190- $290 Econo Lodge, Hershey-- $120- $130 Econo Lodge, Grantville (about 6 miles)-- $80- $85 Econo Lodge, burg (about 9 miles)-- $65- $70 Quality Inn, town (about 12 miles) -- $ 65- $70 You can google any hotel chain and get this kind of info. Please note that I have never been to any of these hotels, so I have no idea what they are like. I also have not spoken to anyone about them. I just pulled prices and distance from Hershey off the internet. Guest guest
Hi , I was also looking around and found a place called the Motel which was much less expensive and about a half mile from the conference. It got an award for being the cleanest motel in Hershey and seemed quite family friendly. Their phone number is 717-350-8950. I don’t know anything else about it, and have no idea if it’s a nice place or not. Hopefully it’s ok. Good luck. Guest guest
I've been meaning to ask about this conference. I looked it up but didn't see anything as to what the itenerary is like, and yet I notice there's lots of FAMILIES here who are excited to go. Why? What do you do? Could somebody please give me a brief description of what this event is like? Libby > > > > > > > > > > > Hi, > > I rarely post, but read daily and I have a question for those > > attending AJAO. Guest guest
Libby, Go to www.arthritis.org. Click on the blue “Events and Programs” tab. When you get to that page you’ll see a list on the left. Click on “JA Conference”. When that page opens you’ll see a box on the right with the heading “National JA Conference”. If you click on “print friendly brochure” you’ll find all kinds of info, including most of the topics to be covered. As for what the conference is like~~ it’s AMAZING! My 15 year old with JA looks forward to it every year, as does her younger sister. Guest guest
& ,I am from the general burg area (the greater burg area encompasses Hershey to the east and my town to the far west), and when I first saw 's post, I was thinking, too, of the Motel. I've never been inside, but it's about a block away from my daughter's ophthalmologist, so I pass it often, and it seems really nice from the outside---nice as far as older, family-owned motels go---not as in fancy or anything, but the outside always looks very clean, and it would only be about a mile away from the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. My daughter has another appointment with the ophthalmologist on June 14th. If you want me to investigate further (even though that's getting down to the wire), I would be willing to do so!Tammy (mom to , age 9, with pauci-JA and uveitis)http://www.annasjra.blogspot.com----- Original Message ----From: <lisa_michael@...> Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2007 5:05:29 PMSubject: Re: AJAO Hi , I was also looking around and found a place called the Motel which was much less expensive and about a half mile from the conference.
