Thank you Ceci!!! I am doing pretty well in the food department: I

have to eat with the medicine I am taking...like I NEEDED an excuse!

I do love to cook and to eat and I put in LONGGGGGGGGGGGG days at

work out and about in the car. I have developed Fast Food Strategies:

I eat veggies when I can from various supermarkets from the deli. I

get chicken sandwiches....hmmmm I can eat bread! I am not restricting

myself but always asking myself " are you really hungry or are you

thirsty? " I carry a big water bottle. One nursing home I go to has

THE BEST tasting water from their fountain so I fill up again there.

I stopped dieting in March and yesterday went to the doctor for a

shoulder and back problem and I weighed THE SAME without dieting...so

for me that's like a weight loss...the inches haven't come off yet

but they likely will when I am finished with this medication which

makes me swell a bit.

About the Italian part...my husband has the most wonderful family

here in the area (I am near Dayton, Ohio). When he decided to ask me

to marry him he went to his father's eldest brother, discussed it

with him and the the brother called the father and said " it's okay " .

At Christmas time now (after 11 years married) they ask ME to make

the lasagne because they like mine the best! Not bad for a strawberry

blonde Scot, huh?!

Thanks so much for the song writer comment...I actually used to write

a lot and music, too...I was a music major before I went into Speech

Pathology (I went to USF near you)...hence the screenname Thpeaky...a

person with a lisp!

Love and have a WONDERFUL trip....pahhhhhh!

Libby,

Sorry your arm is bothering you but glad everything else is going well. Always love reading your posts and miss you when you don't post!!! ;-) Have a great vacation and tell New England "hi" for me. That's my birthplace. Born and raised in Connecticut until junior high, then it was New Hampshire until high school when it was back to Connecticut! Then my parents went back to New Hampshire and I made my way south! Stay in touch when you can and take care of yourself!

Thanks Bonnie,

I LOVE New England! I especially like to see the hydrangias with the

big blue flowers in so many front yards! I have hydrangeas here but I

have to put so much soil amendment around them so they'll bloom and I

haven't got the mix right yet for blue...I have lovely big pink

blooms.I have not been writing as much as I have a lot of pain so I

try to be pretty efiicient...and maybe not-so-funny! I will get it

back I am SURE!

Libby,

I'll be sure to send a prayer up for your arm :-) Yeah, it really is beautiful in New England. Just it's so cold for such a long period of time ! But it really IS beautiful. My Mom, Dad and brother are still there in NH :-) Don't worry about answering. Just take care of yourself. And you're right.........you WILL get it back BIG:-)

Liby, I guess I missed out on something, but what is wrong with your arm? I

hope nothing serious. I know when your arm hurts it's almost impossible to

do anything! I sincerely hope you get better, and will say a little prayer

for you.

Thanks ,

I appreciate your prayers, too. I have been fighting with my arm for

about 6-7 weeks. The final diagnosis was bursitis, tendonitis, and

arthritis as well as 2 muscle strains. We had originally thought it

was rotator cuff. I am not sure how I did it, could be transferring

my Dad or patient pulling on me or just that 3 letter word...o-l-

d!!! I worked with a physicaltherapist today and he gave me strict

instructions to take more antiinflammatories (Ibuprofen) OR ELSE!

So anyway, that's that!

Thanks again, Love and Pahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My mom has bursitis in her hip and I have seen firsthand how painful it can

be. I can only imagine how painful it could be along with tendonitis

arthritis and muscle strain. What a good attitude you have. I'm not so

sure I could be as positive. I know you will get better though because of

your attitude and because you have all our prayers.

God Bless,

Dear New Improved Ultra Liz, (that's for living in Cincy, home of

soap!)

My arm IS better and I am getting more use of it but as you know I

have a tendency to overwork...and that applies to the arm, too. The

Thpeaky van is not yet in the shop. I have to have the brakes

carefully inspected because the crash MAY have been caused by an

improper repair. Other than that it is the front end mainly on the

passenger side headlights and the front bumber is all torn up. It is

one of those pointy nose Lumina vans so very little of the

actual " car " was damaged.

I did some breaths today in the no-radio car (gosh! I miss WKRC,

WHIO, WFCJ, WCDR)...BUT I lost count. I did a few out in the back

yard this evening as the doggies ran around the back yard...'sbeen a

day! I have to make up for the time lost by labor day...Yuck! Oh,

well...I still have the world's BEST job: helping people swallow

again after strokes, cancer, brain tumors and stuff. Like the

ULTIMATE Jewish mother " here...eaaaaaaaaaaaaat " .

Love and Pahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Taking steriods! I started yesterday and as a result I only slept two hours

last night. I have no idea when I might get sleepy tonight, if at all, so I'm

working on websites!

YOU should go to bed and get your beauty rest. Big day tomorrow!

Hi, ,

Thanks for your response. Yes, my son is a fighter and stubborn. He

has said he would do whatever needed or jump through any hoops, if

someone would just tell him what hoops and where they are. He has been

experiencing a delayed spinal headache from the spinal tap. So long as

he stays lying down he is okay. It is getting better than it was on

Saturday...we made a trip back to the emergency room then.

We are due to go back to the doctor next week. Yes, it is hard to wait.

Thanks for the myelitis link. I have printed a lot of information from

there. So much of it sounds just like what Will is experiencing. I

appreciate your sending it.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Hugs,

Libby

Is this THE Liz?? The Uber Liz??? From the midwest city of hills only

1 hour from moi? I am thrilled and honored you even remember me!!! I

have been through so many changes I hardly recognise myself!! ha!

I have written Rashelle recently but also about a year ago with my

weird metabolic problems. I have had a dickens of a time losing

weight. I was sent to an endocrinologist and I am actually

hyperthyroid. The words out of his mouth were : you don't match your

lab work! I AM getting older but one would think my metabolism would

be slower not FASTER. Well. I am back on the LL thing more to work on

stress and sleep better. I have been for YEARS only sleeping 4-5

hours a night on GOOD nights but I AM sleeping better after going

back to LL and working with the Victory theory tapes. BUT I still

think I am on the right track because I am working on my head. I am

pretty darn active (working 1 full time and 2 part time jobs as a

therapist...and pretty darn STRONG (I am caring for 2 large yards and

gardens as well as the houses as my neighbor recently moved to an

assisted living...anybody wanna live next door?) for a pudgy middle

aged woman. SO...here is my plan and my commitment: I will do my LL

each day. I will do affirmations: I will weigh 135 pounds, I will

look as wonderful as I feel! I really like that one because I DO feel

the best I have in my life! It's just that doggone mirror....hee hee

hee!

Thanks for remembering me!

Love,

Lib

Dear Rashelle,

Thanks for remembering me! We got each other through some difficult

times in the past and well remember your and the list's love and

support when my father passed away.

It sounds like you have had an incredibly busy month but aren't those

grandchildren a joy??? Selling a home is such a challange but I pray

someone will come along and be SO blessed by living in it! My dear,

dear next door neighbor of my whole life (I bought my parents house

from the estate so I am back home) has moved (happily for her) into

an assisted living so that house is for sale. We are taking care of

the yard for her so she doesn't incur the extra expense. It brings

back so many wonderful memories: her daughter and I were born 3 days

apart and we were inseparable as children: we played in the gardens

between our homes...and we played with bees in the flowers! We never

got stung which is really amazing. That area has been rather

neglected in the past few years so it has been a treasure hunt

clearing the space out from overgrowth and finding the same beautiful

flowering shrubs.

So I send happy thoughts to you! You remind us to savor those happy

moments!

Love,

Libby

Dear Rashelle,

Thank you for your encouraging note! I cannot tell you how much I

appreciate the whole attitude of Lifelift. It totally meshes with my

philosphy of life. I have been praying a whole bunch about my friend

and listening to my VT tapes. This whole thing comes up several times

in your tapes...about relationships and forgiveness. I realise this

person (who has fibromyalgia very severely) has adopted a victim

rather than a victor way of thinking. I pray for that to change

because she is an intelligent wonderful person. Bit by bit these past

few days I have been able to work my way past this. As you have said

in other situations it was less about me and more about her need to

TRY to make me feel bad. It only succeeds if I FEEL bad about myself

and you know what??? I DON'T!!

I think one of the wonderful things about VT and Lifelift is it helps

us ACKNOWLEDGE ourselves for the good things we do. It does not

negate the fact that God gives us the power to do those things and

his grace to BE good people but it allows us to actually acknowledge

it. I think that is key and is helping me shape up despite the

medical odds against me. Fooey on the odds! ha ha ha!

Thanks Rashelle, for putting it all in perspective

Love,

Libby

I will take it easy Libby. I am looking forward to our lunch on Sunday - that is going to be excellent. The restaurant is fully booked, so it will be our nice little group plus a hundred other loud Greeks partying away - I am sure there will be some plates smashed, LOL.
