Guest guest
, I have been hearing a lot on this Relay. Walk for your Mom. She was to young to pass. If you ever need a shoulder email me ok. I lost my Mom at the age of 53. Is your Sister going to be walking with you also? Keep your head up girl. You have learned from the Best your Mom. Guest guest
The relay is really cool. Its 24 hours and me and two of my friends are going to try to walk from 12am to 8am.. the night shift. I'm excited to walk for my mom. She was supposed to come to this years relay to walk the survivors lap, so it will of course be very emotional to watch that happen and know that she should be here, 54 is just way to young to die. I will actually be doing the relay with my sorority, but I will be doing the lung cancer walk in August with my sisters so that will be nice. Its hard not to feel sad about the fact that I only got to have my mom around for 22 years, it really was just not enough time, and to think that if I live to be 80 she would have only seen one fourth of my life breaks my heart. But I also realize I had an amazing mom who taught me so much in those twenty two years, who gave me more strength and courage to go on then she will ever know, I am who I am today because of my mom because she and she alone raised me. She was a single parent raising three girls and she did an amazing job. I am unbelievably lucky to have gotten those twenty two years with my mom and for the rest of my life I will carry around the lessons and strength and morals and courage that she taught me. And no matter how tired I get from that 24 hour relay or how bad the JAS starts kicking in, I'm going to push through, because for those 24 hours I'm walking for my mom, because she should have been there to do it, and i'm walking for a cure, so that no one else has to feel the pain of losing someone so special to them. I'm pretty excited for the relay and am just hoping old arthur can stay away for just one day (forever would be nice to.. but arthur is pretty dang relentless these days).. for my moms sake.. Guest guest
, I just want to send some hugs along to you. I am so sorry about your mom – you are right 54 is way too young. As someone who has often been helped by your insight, I can say that your mom did do a great job raising you and you will always carry her inside of your heart and spirit. Be proud of yourself and know we are with you as you walk the relay. Guest guest
Way to go, ! I think it is wonderful that you are doing this in your mom’s honor. My mom, like many moms, was the biggest supporter in my life. Whether it was telling me to follow my dreams, teaching me right from wrong, or encouraging to go on despite the devestation Juvenile Ankylosing Spondylitis had brought to my life my mom was always there to support me. On February 28th cancer took my mom away from me, she was 54 at the time far to young to die, and me being only 22 I was definitely not ready to lose my mom. On April 28th (the two month aniversary of my moms death) I will be participating in the Relay For Life. If by any chance you can donate to my page that would be fabulous if not that is ok to. Guest guest
Hi , This is such an amazing thing that you are doing in memory of your Mom. I made a donation(wish it could have been bigger!) in your honor and for this message board. I hope that each person here knows how important they are in the support of others. Way to go and we will be praying you on during the walk!!
