Adults taking Actonel -- I think it is causing me problems.

All, Because of a significant bone loss problem that was detected a few

years ago, my Dr prescribed Fosamax. I took it for a year or so, but

since I hate taking meds I stopped. Within the past 6 months she (my

Dr) insisted that I start taking bone loss meds again. This time she

prescribed weekly Actonel. About a month ago I started having severe

joint pain. Pain as bad as I remember 40 years ago as a kid. My JRA,

although extremely severe, has been dormant since I was about 18,

probably because all the cartilage is gone and the Arthritis has

nothing left to do. I made an appointment with my Dr, but as most of us

know, that can be a very slow process. In fact it will be another 6

weeks before I can see her. I was wondering if anyone else has taken

Actonel, or Fosamax, and had problems? The package insert that comes

with Actonel states clearly that joint pain is one of the side effects.
