Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome to the group! This is a great place to ask questions and talk about your feelings regarding your son's diagnosis. The other moms and dads on this site are so kind and it helps so much to know you are not alone and to have other people's experiences to draw from. My daughter Abby was diagnosed in July with pauci JRA (only her left knee was flaring at the time) and has since developed iritis (diagnosed the beginning of this month). She showed no visible symptoms and didn't complain of any discomfort or glare before she was diagnosed. The opthamologist diagnosed her with " microscopic inflammation " and is medicating her and watching her closely with frequent visits since there are no physical outward symptoms when a flare in the eye begins or worsens. Only when there is severe inflammaion (unchecked or not responsive to treatment) would there be any symptoms. I am only speaking from my experience and my research on this, maybe others had a different experience? It's great that you have already made an appointment with the eye doctor for him; make sure to visit the opthamologist regularly to monitor for any changes! And feel free to ask any questions you may have; someone out there usually can answer them or point you to the right resource. Take care!!!
