Re: I am so frustrated!

Krisitine,

You are right about the low reimbursement rates that doctors get with

HMO's, Medicaid, Medicare. We have experience with this in our

chiropractic office.

To be honest the part that frustrated me most was when I said tell me

the fees for office visits and I will pay privately and she told me

that wasn't an option. That, pissed me off.

Aundrea has really continued to improve each day with the warmer

weather. No sorethroats for the last few days and joint pain has

decreased significantly.

I believe this doc will get insurance approval eventually thru the

hospital clinic. In the meantime we will stay put. I am a person

that will vent, get if off my chest and just move on. Of course

since Aundrea's feeling better it probably makes that a little easier

to do! :-)

I would be more inclined to address the lack of care for jra kids

that are under-insured if I didn't have to worry about it

jeporadizing our own coverage. We admittedly are a unique case.

Most chiropractors don't get state assist for their kids. We only

have temporairy coverage now and its due to the excessive debt of

opening the practice this year and taking a loss....I would be

nervous at this point to rock the boat to much. As frustrating as

this was it would be worse if we had no health coverage at all!

have a doctor in your area. The sad part is that most people with

medical assistance get their care out of the ER because no one will

take the medical coupons because of low reimbursement. The government

pays probably 25-50% or less of what the doctor charges. They just

had a report on the news the other day about a doctor who takes only

Medicaid (government) insurnace. He has been charged with multiple

counts of abuse but he still works, made over a million dollars last

year, pulls teeth he shouldn't etc but when accused he just says that

they are low income, just suiing to get money etc etc and so he goes

on treating. Sad!

insurance requirements etc. Is there a Shriners near you? I think

they have hospitals in Utah and California. It might be worth

calling. I have heard they help with transportation too. This is so

sad that you have a child who is needlessly suffering. If it is state

insurance and you are not getting anywhere with referrals etc how

about contacting your local congressman to see if they can help. It

may help. Or even your local newspapers. They may be able to help you

push some buttons.
