She immediately felt nauseated afterwards and the entire next day she was exhausted, headache, stomach upset...By evening 24 hours post injection she was crying and in out of the bathroom with stomach cramps, loose stools and nausea. I gave her another dose of phenegran thinking that it may help. She said her body just felt so strange and out of sorts. She eventually feel asleep and I stayed in her room on the futon...I let her sleep in this morning and my grandfather stayed with her..I am hoping that when she wakes up she will be feeling better. Since I have absolutely no knowlede of how Mtx works I am just baffled for you. I feel for you I really do. This is a tough time for you and Aundrea. Will keep you both in our prayers. How is today? So about 36 hours of troubles post injection...Maybe I will just try to give her more phenegren next time. did good today..at least I think he did. Guest guest Posted February 21, 2007 Report Share Posted February 21, 2007 Hi Helen, I've been thinking of you and wondering how things have gone at the school since the incident last week with Nick. Aundrea had a great day monday and tuesday. This morning she called me when she woke up and said her knees were both killing her. She went and soaked in a hot bath and by 11:00 the pain was starting to slowly ease off. She stayed home from school and by mid-afternoon the pain was minimal and by evening she was active and feeling good. My husband decided to bring her to the office and take x-rays of her himself. He shot films of her feet, knees and hands. we decided to schedule an appt with the rheumy that has been seeing her for the past 2 years.(he has dx. her systemic)Similar to what you said he was less concerned about her lable of type of arthritis and more concerned with how she responded to treatment. We will show him the films, discuss what the other doc has to say (admittedly the other doc wasn't changing meds yet...getting labs, x-rays, derm visit and then discussing things in 8 weeks). The one thing that I really like with our current rheumy is that I feel a 'trust' relationship with him. He is conservative and he encourages his patients to utilize supplements, yoga, water therapy etc in addition to needed meds. I have found that because of this when he does say he thinks its time to start a med or increase it my husband and I are both agreeable. We know he doesn't rush to decisions and so when he is ready to make a move then I guess we are too. So, it should be interesting. We will see him on Friday. I doubt that he will have the report from the other rheumy but i will fill him in on where were at and see what his thoughts are... The one big difference is that our current rheumy seemed to take a much longer time getting a detailed history on Aundrea. for a first time visit with the new pedi rheumy it felt very short and not super thorough...perhaps its because they worked us in and didn't have much time???
