Guest guest
Helen, Veri, Donna, Beth, , Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, and kind words. We are having a SHOCKER!!! After 2 nights on IV, Miss Violet was discharged from hospital late yesterday, but now has the explosive diarhorrea, and vomited again this morning (after clinging to me all night long). Bayly went off at both ends again yesterday, but none so far today. Grant was up all night with the Gastro (after having it Sunday night)! It's not a pleasant time. At all. I've had to hold off Bay's Mtx shot again, due to the illness, but he had his immunisations yesterday, and seems none the worse for it. I am just praying that no Flare shows up- he's been saying his 'foots hurt' and he is a bit wobbly on his little legs. Can I just say how OVER hospitals I am. How I am OVER holding my beautiful screaming children while they are being jabbed with needles. And if I NEVER have to sleep in a chair beside a hospital bed again, I will be a happy lady. Oh one can live in hope, can't one?? *SIGH* I do hope and pray all our other kids on this list are faring well. I pray for that every single day. Guest guest
Jo, We will continue to pray for you all. I pray that you keep from getting this bug. It is tough taking care of three sick people but if you get this it will be so much harder. I am glad you got to bring Miss V home so that you can take care of her there. Hospitals are good for some things but it is sure good to get back home and sleep in your own bed. I have been there done that and even though the kids are not totally well when you bring them home they seem to feel better just being back home as well. Guest guest
Hey there Veri, Sadly, the sleeping-at-home-in-the-own-bed thing didn't work out for us. Miss Violet is back in hospital. On a naso-gastric tube now. Her veins have sunken and they couldn't get a drip in this time. Man! If I thought I'd been through it all with Bayly and his trips to hospital- I haven't had to hold my little boy while they force a tube up his nose. My baby girl is one brave (albeit terrified) little thing. I am holding together by a thread. Not sick yet, but absolutely shattered. I've had to come to work. For a 'rest.' HA! Guest guest
Jo, So sorry to hear that you are back in the hospital with Miss Violet. That is so tough. How is Bayley handleing you being gone. I spent weeks at a time at the hospital with my Kristie Jo and . They had pneumonia and croup so bad so many times. At the beginning of our stays I would not be able to sleep because their breathing was so loud and by the end of our visits I couldnt sleep because they were quieter and I was afraid they would quit breathing. I was blessed most of the times to be given a bed in their room so that I could at least attempt to sleep when they were. All three of my kids have had their issues and fortunatly and Kristie Jo have outgrown their problems. Kristie has asthma but it is not severe so it is pretty easy to work with. is just 17 and a typical teenager. My fortunatly has only had a few hospital stays and hers were generally just one or two nights. I do feel for you and will continue to pray for you all. Guest guest
You said it- NIGHTMARE! Violet spent another 2 nights in hospital (4 all up last week, and 7 hours in Emergency), the second time on a Naso-Gastric tube because her little veins had sunken so much from the dehydration. We got home last night, and this morning she cam trotting into my bedroom wanting a packet of chips for breakfast. Had a major tantrum when I said no. So yeah, she's back to normal! Bayly, on the other hand, has NOT coped with mummy being away. Aside from the acting-up behaviour from the broken routine- his daddy unfortunately forgot to give him his Pred while I was in hospital with Violet, so his legs are sore today. I gave him his dose this morning and he's been eating all day long!! I hope we avoid a Flare. Made a point to take them both to a park to play and ride their bikes today. It was lovely. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers, I'll keep you posted. And of course, all your kids are in my thoughts and prayers too. Guest guest
Jo, I think after all that I would have given her the chips and just smiled. Glad to hear that she is much better and we will keep Bayly in our thoughts and prayers today as well. Get some rest and have a good day. Guest guest
-Im glad things are getting back to normal, kids fighting is always a " good " sign ) Sorry about the long walk today though. I had that issue the othjer week at the hospital too. We went on a saturday for Nicks remicade and I always use valet parking ( I have a high top van that will not fit in parking ramps) well, who would have known they dont operate on weekends and there was no where to park. We were already late and I had to park in an a not so nice neighborhood and hope my van was still there later that day!! Nick is having a few rough mornings, Im assuming from the missed 2 doses of MTX. Yesterday he had a fever, dizzy, sore ankles, knees and fingers. We did the rice packs, upped his relafen and sent him off to school as he insisted on going. It took a good 3 hours before he was feeling better, he said. Today was no fever, but stiff and sore. He's hanging in there though and not letting it get him down. Hopwfully we will have some answers on friday after we re-check the liver #'s hugs Helen and (9,systemic) a kilo overnight, and has now officially lost her 'baby fat'. :-( > She and Bayly are back to fighting each other with as much vigour as always. > > Bayly is going reasonaly well. He had his last " Hospital School " today, through OT, and got a certificate of which he's very proud. > > But the car parking was a shocker at the Hospital today, so we had to walk a very long way, and both his little legs and his mum's back started to complain. I have NO idea what this is, nor where to find out more. Apparently the school can apply for funding to get one for him if he needs one, when he starts Kindy next year. > > How is Master ?
